2 RespuestasBecause we are finding out that we can solve anything as we become more intellectual. Within our life time we can wipe our cancer, aids, all types of sickness, obesity, double if not triple our life span, etc.(look up nano-robotic technology, If it lives up to its name we can do all that and more). Religion is a way for people to describe something they can't (like how the universe began, people say it was god, others say it was big bang) and that's all it is. As we advance we are able to understand things that our ancestors couldn't, and we will continue to grow smarter.

Good. People just whine and bitch about it regardless.

"The great thing about science is that even if you don't believe in it, it is still true"

Editado por Celt: 5/11/2014 6:12:14 PMYou're just figuring this out now?

I guess it depends when you say religious do you mean being a believer of a religion, or being very active in a religion i could see that causing a few mix ups.

9 RespuestasI'm calling bs. No way everyone stops being religious after only 7 years, unless of course everyone they asked was already basically an atheist. No one changes their mind like that. And nothing scientifically exciting has happened in the past 7 years either.

9 RespuestasI'm not religious, but maybe it's not a good thing. For example if we take the art, when people were more religious made things that are lasting untill today. Now instead we make things that last... a few days? I don't know if you understand my point, so I share with you a picture of Rome. Things like these won't be made anymore. And there were more values. People now suck, really.

I've always found it to be a little sad how people complain about religion online. I'm an atheist, and it seems like a waste of time to discuss something one hates so much. To each their own I guess.

Good and bad. Religion offers relief for anyone suffering horrible impending doom anxiety.

The stupid in this thread is downright painful.

6 RespuestasEditado por swbwryfyk mayil: 5/10/2014 7:48:56 PMThis is good. Religion does no good for humanity. It inhibits our scientific advancements and makes people think irrationally. Religion is why people run planes into towers and picket outside soldier's funerals. You base all your decisions on something you have no proof of, think about that for a second. To me religion is just something to fill that void of unanswered questions, you find a "God" that has all the answers and you think you have all the answers which then makes you arrogant. Uncertainty is an essential element of the human experience. I've never heard of a war starting because two scientist had opposing theories.
