How about you lot get outside and live your life, rather relying on virtual reality!
Sorry this is quite a harsh opening, I know. I love gaming, don't get me wrong, I play about 4 hours a week, when I get spare time, just to escape to a beautiful world like destiny. However I would like to stress that having a life outside the gaming world is vital! AND I DO UNDERSTAND that many of you might be like me, with gaming as just a minor side hobby, but I know most of you arn't! I know this because my friend was like many of you guys, and he is now in hospital... Terminally ill, and he spoke to me today, wishing that he had done something more with his life! And use the beautiful world around him! I'm not trying to be a dick, but please hear me out, because I see people like my friend every day, and it kills me to see how important a fake world is to them, when we have been blessed with a real life!

To be blunt, if your friend is terminally ill in a hospital, there is a lot more to worry about than playing games all the time. Gaming isn't the cause unless something about them causes him physical distress that he chose to ignore. Don't plead this case to us. You should be with your friend helping him however you can, not reprimanding a whole community for doing what we love.

1 RespuestaThis would be better in #gaming. Also how do you know we have no life. Are you stalking people?
-
1 RespuestaI came back from work when you posted this, and I'm going to work shortly after I post this. Stop trying to understand people and get a real hobby. *sips tea*

Take this crap elsewhere. Maybe Facebook will care

8 RespuestasExcuse me, but who the hell are you to tell me what I should be doing in my spare time? I work 60 hours a week, have my own car, my own house, my own electronics that I have spent my own money on and hours perfecting. This is what I do and I have plenty of other hobbies but, video games have my longest running. Over 20 years. So try not to take offense to this and go phuck yourself you entitled smug little prick.

2 RespuestasHow a person chooses to spend their free time is up to them. I'm a homebody. I don't go out often for entertainment unless it's with friends or fiance to a bar or something (don't really like bars all that much either). I entertain myself mostly with video games (my fav), books, movies and shooting. I workout 4-5 days a week, Only 2 of those require me to leave the house. I'm healthy and have healthy relationships with loved ones. I love the hell out of my fake worlds. If I decide to binge play a game in a fake world when I get the chance, there are no negatives to my life. I get where you're coming from and I'm sorry about your friend but people decide what's important to them for themselves.

You're a stranger person. Are you happy that you have gotten so much attention?
-
What about people who can't spend long outside due to disabilities?

1 RespuestaBut virtual reality helps me be who I want to be
-
1 RespuestaLmao i work 11 and a half hours a day i have a succesful relationship and im only 20 i love the outdoors but i am a gamer by heart it seems to me like your using your problems in your life to take it out on us but u havnt realized thats its not ur life to be controlling. No offense but your friend is probly in the hospitol not for gaming but because of the harmful food that he constantly consumed mixed with no excorsise or real nutrients just junk food and electrolytes not saying i know this im only guessing

3 RespuestasI choose to play games, rather than watching tv, browsing interfwebb and doing a whole manner of pointless activities. I play around 10-20 hours aweek depending on if there's a new game out. In this life you need to do things you enjoy. 1 life live it. Stay healthy ditch your car for a bike to commute to work, not everyone wants to sit in the woods tree hugging. Stay fit and play games and conquer a universe!!!!

1 RespuestaAgreed! I live in Moab Utah and it is beautiful, I'm outside daily, at least in the summer. During winter on the other hand tend to move much slower. I could only imagine the people that live in the middle of those big city's that don't even have a backyard, sometimes they have to rely on virtual reality for a quick adventure. But too much of anything can be bad.
-
1 RespuestaSorry about your friend, praying for him.
-
2 RespuestasI agree, even though I feel like i'm being lectured.
