I'm curious as to how the liberal media could spin a statement as racist as this.
English
-
He actually said that. It was not spun at all. But it was the inflections you don't hear on the page. You can't hear the sorrow for the people who must live that way, and to say that, in a way, he wishes they didn't have to sit poorly and idly. It is Mr. Bundy's regret, that they must abort those children, and that those young men wound up in jail because they had nothing to do other than get in trouble. And so it is misconstrued, because he wishes it wasn't so. He wishes there was something else for these people to do, for their own sake, not because he wants his cotton picked. He may not be he best orator in the world, but I don't see how he suggested even for a moment that they belonged enslaved.
-
It also references cotton picking. How are you going to justify this?
-
He says these people at a Vegas housing project are idly getting in trouble because they don't have anything better to do, picking cotton is just an example of work that any people needs to perform to keep themselves not only occupied, but industrious. Of course, it does have a racial background, which immediately leads people to say it is racist. However, it is simply a note that they are now they are enslaved by the projects, and have no work, so they are subject to the punishment of idleness.
-
Or, it's an obvious attack on the black minority because the words "negro" and "cotton picking" don't come up outside of KKK rallies. It's an awful generalization/stereotype, even if it isn't racist (and lol if this isn't racism I don't know what is).
-
Or, have you seen the full unedited version of the video? If not, you have no place in this discussion.

Really well putt.

*counterfollows*
-
I love how this went ignored.
-
bc it's more race-pimping by, surprise surprise, BBC.
-
Lol. You do realize that every source, to some degree, spins videos, audio, and quotes to fit their agenda? Including your "Conservative media". BBC rarely does it.
-
BBC just did.
-
How did they? And way to dodge the "Even your media does it". Don't you just love doing that?
-
Editado por cxkxr: 4/30/2014 4:47:54 AMZo actually objectively analyzes what he says, instead of immediately flinging poop for making a controversial, yet truthful, statement. Nothing Bundy said was racist. That's why BBC is no better than Al Sharpton race pimps.
-
Editado por Forever Berg: 4/30/2014 6:35:09 AMHe straight up compares modern blacks to the slaves, saying they are loose in morals and have poor economic situations because they don't pick cotton like they used to which he is implying is the only thing they are good at. You're being ignorant if you think otherwise, every politician whether liberal or conservative has pulled any support from him. He's said in multiple interviews that he indeed did mean what he said. It was cool how he stood up to the government in protest but he represented outdated views. He came from a time when his views were acceptable.
-
And then everyone goes and ignores the part at the beginning where he says he would never want to go back in time and have racism and slavery dominate the south.
-
Editado por cxkxr: 4/30/2014 6:44:06 AMYou have a terrible comprehension of what the man said. Nothing he said implies he was hostile against blacks. He does not defend the accusations made against him. He's come out and said multiple times he believes blacks and whites are equal, and he loves them the same. You're extremely naive, or just complacent to repeating propaganda/slander.
-
If that is what he was trying to say then cotton, black, and slaves should never be said to get the point across.
-
Editado por cxkxr: 4/30/2014 7:08:50 AMI agree. But he's an old white rancher, and he talks like one. But to assume he's a bigoted hateful racist is just extremely naive race baiting. This whole mentality of "OMG he said, cotton & slavery!!!!! He's a -blam!-ing racist!" Gimme a break, and objectively comprehend the point he's making. It's beyond childish at this point.
-
I see where you're coming from.
-
Nothing Bundy said was racist.
And I'm the King of England.
-
And what was racist about what he said?
-
What wasn't?
-
That's what I thought.
-
Simply pulling the same shit you do. Also, muted.
