It was never canned. Blizzard has it "on hold" at the moment.

RAGE was a good game. I don't think it was ever in development hell either. And while this is debatable, I liked DOOM 3. It wasn't amazing, but I liked it.

I don't like any of those three games at all. Especially DOOM 3. It's worse than Alien: Colonial Marines (although at least it's [i]functional[/i] unlike Alien: Colonial Marines, I guess... :/)

It's boring, unfun, uninteresting, unscary (?? That's a word now, deal with it), and is a generic FPS horror whereas the first two were full blown action games in deep hell. I miss that if DOOM 4 is anything like DOOM 3 instead of II, I'm not getting it...

Nope. It's nothing like Call of Duty. It's environment is unique. Go to hell and tell me otherwise. It's non-linear for God's sakes.

Doom 3 isn't exactly COD either. Not many FPS horror games back in 2003.

Never said it was COD, it's a generic FPS Horror not a COD Clone. I agree it may've been the first, but the first foyager is always the least good. Hopefully DOOM 4 will be DOOM II II
