And in my way of interpretation, Jesus "died for our sins" as he brought forth what God truly is like and gave his message (love and be a good person). He leads us to heaven by "opening the gates" and showing and preaching to us on how to live good lives. Christians before were scared of God until Jesus came along, and it is through him we learn of God's true message.

4 RespuestasNobody died for your sins. You are responsible for what you do, and if you want your sins to be forgiven you ask God to forgive them. He doesn't need to sacrifice a person to wash away your sins, he can simply just wash them away.
-
If Jesus died for our sins, aren't our sins forgiven already and we're all getting into heaven? Makes no sense that Jesus died for my sins, yet I still have to live a pious life and run the risk of not getting into Heaven due to my sins. What the -blam!- kind of logic is that?
-
Everybody has to sin once though

1 Respuestano, Jesus died for your donuts
in all seriousness, if you haven't sinned you are not human
22 RespuestasSeeing as how thousands of atrocities have occurred since his death, I think it's safe to say that he died for something

12 RespuestasIt is human nature to sin. That cake you had two slices of? That's gluttony which is a mortal sin. But it's not "unfair" that we always sin, it's that while we sin we can do good things that are ten times greater. Just living a good contributing and loving life is good enough.

From my understanding Christianity says the devil tricks people and temps them to sin. But through the church you can be forgiven. (2 cents)↓ When people say he died for your sins I think that means back then he died instead of us. Killing the son of god is grounds for extermination most likely. So Jesus said something like "forgive them, for they know not of what they do."
-
13 RespuestasLol, ha, you think humans are capable of not sinning. That is funny bro.
-
Sin is just an arbitrary human construct in order to segregate ourselves from the animal kingdom. It's essentially just a cluster of chemical processes and neuron transmissions in our brain that gives us a sense of self importance and meaning. It doesn't exist.
-
So, have you ever said something mean to anyone?
-
You've never sinned? LOL
