Before everyone looses their minds further, ask yourself
"Is making this public on a twitter account professional?"
the answer in no. It sounds like something Kanye would tweet if he spit in someone's face and got fired for it.
Marty making this public knowledge in general is a scumbag move in an attempt to hurt the company. Whether or not the reason for his termination is justified, bringing up company business the way he did to the public unprofessionally is low. Really low. Kanye West low. There is a reason for his termination, but he deliberately stated "without cause" to bend ignorant fans and the community to his defense. He lied my friends. He just doesn't want us to know the real reason.
After this, Marty shouldn't be some "God" on a pedestal and more on the arrogant side.
He did make amazing music and will probably continue to do so. I respect his work, but after such an unprofessional way to break the news, I don't respect the way he conducted this whole situation.
Before you send back hate mail a few things:
yes I have played every Halo entirely.
I loved the music
I do know what I am talking about
oh and READ THE REDDIT POST before responding
(And if the reddit post is a lie, then think about this. Why would bungie fire a senior member of their staff without cause? that's right folks. they wouldn't.)
If you have anything else please feel free
Tired of editing this post to outline the OBVIOUS point. If you don't get it by now, just leave

I actually agree quite a bit. Even if Bungie was 100% in the wrong when firing Marty, it was incredibly unethical and selfish to post it in such a way on Twitter. I expected more from a seasoned vet like him. Good post, sir.

Editado por DocSmurf: 4/17/2014 5:45:58 AMJust when you thought #destiny couldn't get any more stupid than it already is. 1. It is his personal twitter getting fired is a major event and he didn't talk any shit in the post. 2. He has been an important part of community outreach since the first of the podcasts and his more recent silence diminishes this position little if none at all. 3. He is the best video game composer in the business. Period. Even people from other studios that follow him are at a loss and shocked at this sudden and inexplicable development. Everyone in the community has every right to be pissed. We are pissed. We will continue to be pissed untill this -blam!-ing bs is clarified.

Comon guys stop fighting guy has right to say what he thinks, yes im rly upset why Marty left but if we keep fighting like children are we wont do any good. (Although about Marty leaving Bungie is very wierd I mean Marty is saying one thing and Bungie another and we can only guess what rly happened this isnt reason to fight :/)

16 RespuestasAgreed. These idiots don't even know what they're crying about

3 Respuestasholy hell this forum is now a registered threat to humanity's collective intelligence

Not that I actually care but what is all the fuss about. some guy (Marty I believe his name is) who writes music with a team of many other music writers. Was let go and we only have one side of the story so far. Am I right so far?
-
1 RespuestaUnprofessional is waiting until Marty brings it up to say anything.
-
I agree, but I don't care if Marty's gone honestly, I grew up on halo. But I'd like a refreshing soundtrack with someone else's perfected tunes for the games that are to come from bungie.

Editado por KingInTheNorth: 4/16/2014 4:51:27 PMYou're referencing an anonymous Reddit post as your reasoning for saying that Marty is a liar? You're a very smart person aren't you?

I lost braincells... Literally... Are you... #Destiny hit an all time low. Thank you for proving this forum is autistic.

Irony under the cover of night started playing as I was viewing the posts

17 RespuestasTwitter is for updates on the person you're following. Him getting fired is an update on... himself. It also spurred Bungie saying something about it. That isn't 'unprofessional' at all. Had he said 'and !@#$ Bungie and their mothers' then I could see your point. But he didn't. He just stated the fact.

6 RespuestasEditado por MALTHUSIA: 4/16/2014 1:02:09 PMActually things like this are public record no matter what. In today's society there is no privacy when it comes to corporate America. You'll learn this as you grow up. He was right to post what he did. He didn't drag bungie name through the mud he wasn't out running his mouth like kanye does. Kanye is a waste of human flesh who's done nothing in life except act like his shit don't stink. Marty is not that kinda person having met him a couple of different times I can tell you he was extremely nice and humbled to have been a part of bungie culture. So get off your high horse and don't hate on someone you don't know. As for the real reason he was fired only tome will tell that. Company's can't actually fire you without just cause. He had to do something. Even if it was trivial. That's just the way businesses work.

The only post on Marty that should not be blocked is this post!
-
I don't see anything wrong with what he tweeted.

Editado por Inyaccurate: 4/17/2014 4:53:21 AMThis is possible. However, it is equally as possible that he legitimately doesn't know why he was fired. Bungie has the right as an employer to fire someone, and not have to give a cause. This is like a hit and run for the community. They're in shell-shock, and don't know why what happened, happened. They're simply looking for answers. All-in-all, you know exactly as much as everyone else regarding this situation (which isn't much, mind you), so, for the sake of avoiding being labeled a hypocrite, don't place blind judgement, which is what you are denouncing in this very thread.

5 RespuestasFinally. Someone with sense.
-
I sense a lot of butt hurt in this thread. Good thing Bungie doesn't need a reason to fire someone, and perhaps the reasoning behind his termination was something they chose not to discuss so they could end on better terms than what could have been. It is nice to know you were all there and a part of the termination process so that you can rightfully crucify Bungie like you are. Right ?
-
He has such a right, as this is the US. He did not intentionally bend his comment as to what happened, but said it in a non-biased manner. You are assuming that he was given a reason for termination, as I believe he was given none.
-
Arguing that this is "unprofessional" is ridiculous. It's his own personal twitter account. He was fired from a job he's held for over a decade. Just because he's got a following doesn't mean he doesn't get the right to -blam!-ing complain.
-
Editado por Reclamity: 4/17/2014 3:35:18 AMMarty has been with Bungie since it's infancy. Bungie has been his home and life for the past 20-some years. And now he's gone? Why could he have possibly done that would warren this termination? Unless Marty committed a felony (which is doubtful), I believe he has every right to he upset about being fired.
-
3 RespuestasIf he got fired for unjust reasons why the absolute -blam!- should he care if he makes the company look bad? Especially a company he was fundamental in bringing up to its current state. Grow up.
-
1 RespuestaLink for the reddit post please?

You have a point
-
I think he did something to get himself canned and now is trying to get the people on his side so he doesn't look like a jackass. Bungie did nothing wrong here. They obviously don't want him working for them anymore.
-
9 RespuestasIts just music. I dont play the game for music. If they love him so download the soundtrack and wear headphone, but to attack a company behind a regular procedure. Being fired probrably opened up new doors for him and allowed unknown to make a name for themselves "Buisness is Buisness"
