It's only been six weeks, I checked. The update that indicated 8 weeks until some sort of development milestone was on February 28th. 8 weeks since then will be the April 25th update.

that would make sense. i thought it was eight weeks cause someone said that the end of the 8 weeks ended on april 8. thanks for telling me. hopefully we get a beta launch date. some people think that the beta starts at the end of the 8 weeks, but im guessing its in may, june, july. august would be to late to call it a beta by then it would be a stress test

Also, Bungie never promised a "huge info drop in eight weeks". DeeJ was discussing an internal development milestone in a WU and the community started wildly speculating without any hard evidence.
