The Exo are robots, not cyborgs. We've known this for awhile.

Did you not read my post?
-
I did. You said "more than just robots with gears and pistons and wires" That implies that they're are partially organic, which means they would be cyborgs.
-
So why are you saying they're robots in your first post? Beating hearts are not something ordinary robots have.
-
So why are you saying they're robots in your first post?
Because they are.
Beating hearts are not something ordinary robots have.
We know that they are robots, which means they do not have hearts. If they did, that would make them cyborgs and Bungie would be directly contradicting itself. Deej is simply being poetic, you shouldn't take things so literally.
-
What I'm saying is maybe he isn't being poetic. Maybe they're not just robots, but artificial life forms with robotic exoskeletons.
-
He is being poetic. If he wasn't, he'd be contradicting what Bungie has said about the Exo. Bungie has referred to them as robots on multiple occasions. If they ended up NOT being robots, Bungie would be directly contradicting themselves.
-
So what? Things change.
-
To go up against established fact and have your only argument be "Thing's change" is laughable. I had my own theories about the Exo that were proved wrong as well. Just accept the fact that you're wrong and move on.
To go up against established fact and have your only argument be "Thing's change" is laughable.
*cough* Beta date *cough*
-
You can't compare that situation to this one, and even if you could Bungie never actually released a beta date.

Editado por Glitched: 4/13/2014 3:57:43 AMYeah well it seemed like a big issue, considering all the whining on this forums about the beta date. Also, everything I had said in my post is speculation. I am not saying the Exos are for sure artificial synthetic life forms with robotic exoskeletons, I'm just saying that everything we've been told seems to point in that direction. One other thing: How would robots be able to use the Traveler's Light? It seems to me like something only living beings should be able to use. Kinda like Star Wars, only living entities can use the Force. Robots/droids can't. (And I realize Grievous is a cyborg, but Star Wars logic dictates that he can't use the Force anymore because he doesn't have enough midichlorians in the remnants of his body)
Yeah we'll it seemed like a big issue, considering all the whining on this forums about the beta date.
People on #Destiny will whine about anything, and people in general typically don't understand the meaning of the word "tentative." I am not saying the robots are for sure artificial synthetic life forms with robotic exoskeletons, I'm just saying that everything we've been told seems to point in that direction.
Except nothing at all points in that direction. It's been confirmed by Bungie that the Exo are robots. Not cyborgs, and not synthetic organisms.
Here's a topic I'd be willing to theorize with you. Personally, I have two theories. The first is that the Traveler's Light can be naturally channeled (as the Humans and the Awoken do) or through highly-tuned receivers (as the Exo would). However, I can poke a hole in this theory by saying that if the energy could be harnessed through technology, then theoretically the opposing factions could harness it as well. The second theory is that the Traveler can bestow it's power onto anyone or anything it desires. It could, for example, give it's power to a toaster. This toaster would have the Traveler's Light, but it really wouldn't be anything except an irradiated hunk of metal. But, if you were to give the power to a sentient machine, then I suppose it would be possible for that sentient machine to channel that energy as effectively as any other biological creature. Anyway, I'm curious as to how YOU think the Exo can use the Traveler's Light. Care to share?

Editado por Glitched: 4/13/2014 4:15:18 AMI think I'd just fall back on my cyborg-ish theory, and that although they are artificial life forms, they're still living, and that's exactly why they can use Light, unlike toasters or those robotic guards we've seen. Exo in my theory are living, unlike toasters, and so therefore can wield the Traveler's power, with its blessing or whatever. You must be chosen by it. Your theory about Traveler Toaster is definitely interesting (and hilarious), and is definitely a viable theory. Also I wonder to what extent would such a toaster be able to toast toast? I'm assuming that it would have two tiny, flattened Nova Bombs on either side of its interior to do the afore mentioned Light toasting.
I just realized how badly autocorrect butchered some of my previous posts. I'm going to fix that so I don't seem idiotic.
Also, I'm going to post a link to a video series you might like. It's sorta related to your robot-with-feelings theory, but sadly no Space Magic. Ninja Edit: Here it is. It's a 4 part video called Drone.
