Imagine it. You really have not joined a faction or you have yet to decide. You are strapped for glimmer. I can see you are wondering how this idea is going to work out ?
Being an independent contractor will give you advantages. You pay the mercenary guild or board a 15% fee for paper work and proper contracts so you do not get sent on suicide missions.
Yet if they cross the guild or board they get black listed and no proper mercenary will work for them.
You take contracts as they come. A rating to tell how well known you are and how you abide by the contracts will affect how you will get paid. You are not an assassin. So everything from escort duty to searching through ruins to get valuable equipment back or data that is worth a great deal to the client.
City might have contracts to kill Hive or Cabal of note. So if a band of Cabal are harassing Guardians supply lines and they want them found they send you to go terminate them.
Bounty and other contracts will be filled daily. So even fireteams can do the bigger ones for a bigger reward. Not to mention the glimmer and loot that drops off them that might be a weapon armor or even a vehicle.
heck if you are running low on people you need in a Fireteam you can list a mission as a Contract and each split the rewards. Not sure how it would work in Multiplayer but it could be implemented if you win but a retainer would be necessary.
Do you think this is feasible ?

1 Respuesta
Unique missions, with unique rewards, will present themselves. Emissaries appear for a short period of time. Then, they’re gone, like the spirit of a Fallen Captain, carried away by the wind. - Bungie Weekly Update 3/21/14
How does that not fit the bill?

You know, your typical "Kill X of Y" type stuff. Reach had those kind of daily missions for the mulitplayer stuff. It was a good aspect.

2 RespuestasOf course it's feasible. Glimmer makes the last safe city go round. I don't understand the black listing part of it. It should either be available to all players regardless of faction, or faction based job boards. Either way is fine with me.

3 RespuestasProlly not but why take away assassinations? Maybe a merc has gotten to big for his shows so a faction wants to whack him. ( merc being another guardian.
