So for the past 7 years I've played Halo and considered myself somewhat good enough to play MLG and do just fine or above average. What I've realized lately in the past 3 months about Halo 3 was that the host system was awful, and I really don't like the game anymore just simply because. I find the host system terrible and it's impossible to have fun at playing 1v1s with random people if you are on this system. I definitely don't miss the BR burst shot which has 2/3 shots in the burst typically registering, and I still get bloodshots on bloodshots on bloodshots.
I moved to reach, my friend is #2 MLG US KDR, in an MLG team Only Natural, with a couple others and I asked him to give me some tips to get better at reach, because I decided I was moving to reach. He told me there isn't much of anything that's different in Halo 3 than Reach when it comes to the Host system, it's still awful in Reach. I found that it takes less time to search for MLG matches though, I find the netcode atleast more accurate, and I don't have alot of problems so far that are noticeable.
On the other hand there is Halo 4. It has amazing netcode, but I absolutely abhor the gameplay, from ordinance, to flag pistols, to sprint, to everything. It's enjoyable with friends but competitively it's a joke.
I really don't want to say Bungie has failed me, because I love Bungie and the games, but ... -blam!- man it's so difficult finding which game I should play. I've played H3 so long it's starting to get tiresome with the insane amount of unregistered hits, and reach I am terrible at.
To give some indication on where I stand as a player
KDR
Halo 3 - 2.1
Halo 4 - 2.1
Halo reach - 1.3
I'm not saying i'm awful but I don't understand why I'm worse at Reach, honestly. I would like to be up there with Halo 3 and 4 but it already seems like a lost cause. I'd have to learn the Reach callouts, (i already know 3 and 4), map control places, sanct spawns, alot of community forged maps, etc.
I don't want to quit the entire competitive scene because I LOVE to be competitive, but i find it difficult with all of these games. I know Destiny won't be a letdown, and will probably be a little competitive, but I need some type of game to be a 'filler' between now and Sept. 9th.
So.. I'm reaching out to the Bungie community.
I wanted to know what game should I play, and which do you think is the best?

Editado por Xmark120: 3/9/2014 10:42:58 PMI've always preferred Reach. I actually prefer Reach's bloomed DMR as opposed to Halo 3's BR recoil and 3 shot burst mechanic. The BR was bound for inconsistency. And it really showed after the year 2011, when the player base noticeably dropped, and the lag became more apparent.

Hitscan >> Projectile. This is one of the main reasons Halo 3 irritates me so. Hitscan would have made the game much more consistent and made the weapons that much more useful.
-
Reach is too random.
-
Both. For me, i loved the story in halo 3, especially how they ended the first trilogy, but i love reach because of the newer gameplay and intertwined story, and how well it fit right before halo CE.

Reach - easy

11 RespuestasHalo 3 Gotta love how anyone who says Reach has only been here for 3 years max.

I haven't played Halo in a long time. It's so garbage now.
-
1 RespuestaHalo 3. On LAN. Reach NBNS was just as good though.

Well halo is fairly dead when it comes to competitive play. The skill gap in Reach was low and in 4 was extremely low.
-
I prefer Reach

Editado por Ahhsenberg: 3/7/2014 7:02:57 PMI would have to say that you should play Halo Reach. I definitely think that Halo 3 is a better game in terms of multiplayer, but it seems that most of the games that I've been in for the past couple of months have had crappy hosts. However, even though I highly doubt it due to what my friends have been saying, it could just be bad luck on my end and everyone else is doing fine.

I like reach more then 3 only because of the dlc maps.

Editado por djtanng: 2/28/2014 7:15:32 PMFor competitive gameplay I'd go with H3, but Reach may be better practice to prepare for Destiny's "classes" in competitive play. Overall for me, Reach has way more stuff to do in it to keep you busy for a long time, while H3 has the better core gameplay, but with a lot less stuff to do in it, unless you have the DLC Sandbox map. I'd play both of those, but not too much Halo 4, because of all of the mistakes in it that will hopefully be fixed in H5.

I like Reach over Halo 3, mp wise
-
if you say Halo Reach over Halo 3 then lol.
-
Halo 3 if you want to be more competitive.
-
Is this really a question? Halo 3.
-
Halo 3. They both have campaigns and stories that I found boring, but Halo 3 does have an MP that I enjoyed. I found most of the maps fun, I like playing the MP because of the maps and I had a blast in the custom games because of the people I played with and because of the maps. You can tell Bungie put hardly anything into Reach.

Halo 3....but its because of the nostalgia
-
If there was a Halo 2 option, I'd be all over it. Halo 3 was vastly disappointing imo. Out of those two however, I'd probably say Halo 3 because nostalgia.

Halo 3 hands down the best shooter
imo
-
Nothing will compare to the Halo 3 days.

Editado por Legend To None: 2/27/2014 8:55:10 AMBoth different gameplay styles and custom games so it's a tie for me, but Halo 3 was way more Festive, so Halo 3

Reach had better multiplayer, but 3 had better campaign.
