2 RespuestasI can't prove all other religions false, just like people can't prove christianity is false, just like creationist can't prove the big bang theory is false. When you're dealing with a religion, belief, or theory that is untestable and hold no DEFINITIVE concrete evidence you merely weigh your options and decide what meshes best with your world view wether that be a theistic world view, an agnostic world view, or an atheist world view. It's pointless to debate matters of faith, you'll find that their disbelief will never balance out your belief and that your belief will never balance out their disbelief. That said, upon examination of each religion, my personal conclusion is that Christianity boast more believable authenticities than other belief systems. Many scholars, both Christian and non-Christian, would argue that there is more cause to the beieve the New Testament to be historically authentic than other religious texts. Ancient texts OUTSIDE of the New Testament, make mention of Jesus as an actual living person. Some paint him in a negative light and seek to disparage his legacy by mentioning he "practiced magic" which, to me, has an opposite effect than what was intended in that it validates the New Testament claims that Jesus was a controversial and hated figure, and that he performed miracles. The case fir historical accuracies within the Bible yields more results than the average person is led to believe, especially contrasted with other belief systems and movements based on a "religious" figure. When examining facts laid out by scholars and theologians, as opposed to websites created by teenagers or documentaries made by skeptics, one begins to see a very substantial case not only for the existence of Jesus, but for the reliability of the New Testament as well. In fact, an objective analysis of the facts and theories does more to dismantle claims that Jesus never existed, or that he is a mythic construct based on another religion or deity mythos that pre-dates Jesus himself. It's one thing to examine or entertain a challenging idea like that Jesus is a rip-off of the Egyptian god Horus, but to do so without a thorough investigation of all objective facts is just as foolish as blindly accepting Christianity with no personal pursuit of truth. Moreover the teachings of Jesus are unique among religious doctrines in that they deal with unpopular and "unnatural" notions, like loving, serving, and dying for your enemies. There are those who argue that Jesus' life and teachings bear questionable similarities to figures who came before him, but Jesus' teaching always differ from doctrines that came before in the most essential and bottom-line elements. Jesus was a brilliant man apt tot quote philosophers and challenge their ideas with his own. Add this to the fact that Jesus created a religious movement within the years of his life on earth as evidenced by the writings of the apostle Paul who lived during the same time period as Jesus' brother James. The only thing that the gospel authors stood to gain for their writings were persecution, hostility, poverty, imprisonment and execution, there was no promise of any sort of traditional earthly reward: the teachings of Jesus they were perpetuation deal intensely with self-sacrafice, humility, poverty and suffering as a servant. The people to whom their message was presented often found it blasphemous and obscene. There was no money, popularity, or even safety in store for Jesus' followers. Christianity was born into a world of wild and violent opposition, Jesus has become recognized as both God and the savior of mankind within his own lifetime, and the movement quickly spread throughout the region of his ministry and beyond. There were contemporaries who openly opposed Christianity and would have certainly refuted the story of Jesus being circulated by alleged eyewitness if they had any means of doing so. The locations of the events that took place as well as the people actually involved with them were still around: one would have only to present the testimony of witnesses who contradict the gospel accounts, or even present Jesus' dead body and the movement would have been stifled before it had a chance to catch on. On the contrary, Christianity's detractors did not refute the facts behind the gospel, not the events, the miracles, or even the resurrection. Instead they called into question the means by which these feats were accomplished, attributing them to trickery, deception or even sorcery, inadvertently providing further validation that they transpired in the first place. And so a historical foundation is only one of the many traits that make Christianity unique among religions. The Bible begins with the creation of the world and follows history to the birth, death, and resurrection of Jesus christ and the subsequent spread of the Christian faith. It covers a period of 1,500 years that can be verified by and compared to non-biblical historical records. Only the Christian faith claims such an extensive historical foundation and connects its doctrine to the world in this way, explaining-throughout history-the origin of the universe and man as well as our purpose. Contrast this with sacred books of other religions that are collections of teachings and wisdom and neither allow nor require historic confirmation. Only Jesus claimed to be God himself annd in doing so left no opportunity to afford himself the title of "noble teacher" or "moral philosopher." there's something we call a man who claims to be God but isn't, and the word is NUTS. Hinduism has no founder, and Siddhartha Gautama (Buddah) did not claim to be God. In Christianity we find the one case where the founder was and is a man, a historical figure, who claimed to be God himself. Witnessses, not the founder of Christianity, wrote the Bible. Jesus authored no books of the Bible physically, and while some of his followers might have had access to the material of others, most wrote their accounts independently of one another. Despite authoring theit books from different locations and at different times, they tell a harmonious story attributing deity and messiahship to Jesus and his solitary plan of redemption. Christianity offers a complete, comprehensive, and simple plan of salvation. One has only to initiate and pursue as relationship with Jesus to accept his free gift of payment for our shortcomings that separate us from a perfect God and we become reconciled with the all-loving creator both in our lives on earth and in the life to come, when the full reconciliation will be realized. Compare this with salvation plans in other religions and you'll find a stark contrast. Buddists for example, seek to free themselves from suffering and achieve Nirvana, but how exactly? How is progressed measured? How does one know when it happens? What exactly happens when we die? Similarly, Hinduism teaches that one must improve throughout numerous life cycles of reincarnation, yet the Hindu has no was of knowing with any certainty how successful his or her improvements have been. One never knows, at death, if one's soul will reach Mokosha or if it will be reborn and repeat the process. Other religions like Islam, believe in God, judgement, heaven and hell, but their paths to heaven are dependent on good deeds. What scale does one use to measure the good versus the bad? How can people effectively know they have done more good than bad in the eyes of Allah? Only Muslims martyred in jihad have complete assurance of heaven. All the worlds religions have some promise or liberation, but all these plans involve something the believer has to do to earn it. This is not the case with Jesus. It seems to me that there is reason enough to accept the existence, teaching, miracles, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ as historical fact without need of great supernatural faith. If then we can reach an educated conclusion that the New Testament is fact, and the historical account of the Bible can be known as truth with relative ease, then the leap of faith we require becomes much smaller. Accepting Jesus as God and his words as truth gives validation to the whole of biblical canon. There is a lengthy measure of facts and conclusions drawn from them that is available before we must make the leap of faith to accept Christianity as ultimate truth in our lives. It is by faith alone we are reconciled with God, not by any collection of facts or data. In my line of work, I see a young generation who regard Jesus with ignorance, wether raised comfortably in the church or raised comfortably with their rejection of the gospel. and so I tell them every night, it simply isn't enough to accept agnosticism with complacency. there is a tremendous intellectual and spiritual journey to be had by each and every one of us before we arrive at belief or unbelief. In my own journey, I have come time and time again to the one known as Jesus, and the whole of my heart rests there. Despite the mess made by his followers-worst of which is me- and despite the world itself. He will be my God and I will be his love, his servant, his son and if I'm remembered at all may it be as a Follower of Jesus. Because I have given pause to ask terrifying questions: What if everything is true? What if Nothing is? How will we know?

My reply to proving my religion is true and everybody is else is wrong: Can you prove yours is the true religion? I don't see the point of religion it just causes conflict, robs people of money and helps with discrimination. People should just get rid of religion and use common sense there is no current need for it anymore. We no longer need to pray for a good day we should just make our days good.

47 RespuestasThe basic ideas of human morals prove Christianity is the way. If you want to look at it from an atheistic point of view, you can't explain why people know the difference between right and wrong. If you use the bible as a reference, however, it can be easily explained.

It's not really a proof, but the fact that an entire country was founded by the descendants of some old guy who heard a voice in the wilderness telling him to follow that voice and leave his father's house to move to another land that would someday be inhabited by hundreds of thousands or millions of his descendants would probably make a convincing introductory statement.

9 Respuestas
And while I wouldn't call myself religious, I'll sum up my views in a simple way to answer. 1. No religion in the world is right. 2. I believe what evidence presented to me makes me believe, i.e. I've never seen a giraffe, but I've seen enough pictures, stories, videos, and information on them that I believe they are real. 3. Science trumps religion, but only because it is willing to and does throw away beliefs proven wrong. Many things once thought to be works of a deity have now been shown to be natural phenomena. 4. I choose to believe in a supernatural power, not because of any evidence given to me, but because I prefer to think that people will be rewarded for their good actions in life, and punished for their bad ones, in a completely fair way that is, to say, exactly what they deserve. Again, no proof, call me self-deluding, it's just what I choose to believe to help me sleep at night. 5. Here's an interesting perspective that religious and atheist people should be able to understand: Before you are born, before you ever have a single thought, where is your mind? Nowhere. It doesn't exist. Or, better to say, it is in Nonexistence. Scientifically, what happens to our minds after we die? They go to...nowhere. To Nonexistence. Where they started from. So, if your mind came from Nonexistence, and returned to Nonexistence, is it not possible to say that your mind could come out of Nonexistence again in another place and time?
This was what I used to reply to another one of these threads. It's pretty generalized, so if you find a flaw in my argument, point it out, and I'll try to explain better what I mean.

1 RespuestaIf it is alive, plant or animal, our God made it. Science or scientists have never, and never will, be able to make anything come alive. Thus proving the existence of a creator. My god is Jehovah, and he came to earth in the flesh as a man named Jesus Christ, who he called himself, and his son. He died for each and everyone of us. Through this death he took all our sin upon himself, so long as you recognize that sacrifice. He then resurrected, and left behind on earth the holy spirit to help to guide, and comfort us in hard times. That is why my religion is the right one, no other religion on this earth has that core, that not one of us is worthy, and that only through Jesus are we able to reach heaven.
