Would ME1-3 combat be good without Soldier's abilities/biotic/tech powers?
I think the powers from ME are a big reason why ME is so fun.

5 RespuestasI usually play as a soldier and I think it's amazing. I never touch the soldier in multiplayer, though. The few, possibly single, playthroughs I did with powers were an interesting mix up though.

No, that's what makes it stand apart from other shooters. And it makes the ME:3 multiplayer really addicting. Once you get to ME:3 the Biotic Charge is insanely powerful if you do the correct build.

It would be bland without them. Powers are what I mainly used throughout all 3 of them.

On ME2 it's fun to use Slam and when they hit the floor and are still alive to use Slam again.

powers are the only thing keeping the game from being a subpar-yet-slightly-faster-paced gears clone.

5 RespuestasGun play in mass effect 1 is awful, you need abilities to get through it. Me2 had better gun play but also greatly improved the abilities so it would stand out among other 3rd person RPGs. Me3 needed a better ending.

Dude, don't you even consider taking away Fortification from me in the first ME. With the right build you could fight Threshers on Insanity on foot, and punch them to death if you wanted to.

I rarely used them. I relied more on the guns.

I thought the powers were a bonus but sometimes in ME 2 I forgot to use them. In ME 3 I used the kinect with the voice commands and that was just flat out awesome. It was the sole purpose I bought the kinect.

1 RespuestaPart of the reason mass effect is so great is because you can play through once guns blazing with rifles and shotguns, play through it again being a stealthy sniper, and play through it again barely ever firing a bullet.
