If you believe your armed forces should follow rules in war, and consider them morally superior to their enemy for doing so, then I feel like you have to agree the sentence was justified. I'm really only posting this for how dramatic the execution was.
Blackman shot the injured captive in the chest at close range with a 9mm pistol before quoting a phrase from Hamlet as the Afghan died before him.
He told the insurgent: “Shuffle off this mortal coil, you c***. It’s nothing you wouldn’t do to us.”
Blackman, whose identity was revealed two days ago, then turned to two comrades and said: “Obviously this doesn’t go anywhere, fellas. I just broke the Geneva Convention.”
If you believe your armed forces should follow rules in war
America gets away with all kinds of war crimes, and then imprisons heroes like Chelsea Manning who expose all of their bullshit.

It's ok though because he's British and only Americans are capable of doing bad things.

2 RespuestasHe murdered a guy. He got the right punishment. Though I would understand and respect this if the guy he killed shot a friend of his, but that's not the case.

Good. I was disgusted to hear that there were calls for leniency because of the stressful conditions of war. This soldier calmy murdered an injured combatant. He'll probably be out within a few years though.
