I've preordered Destiny for PS3 and a friend of mine is getting it for PS4, and we want to team up. I've only played a total of three or four games on my PS3, none of which were online. And of course, my friend doesn't have a PS4 yet to play online with.
My question (and again, it may sound stupid to some, but I legit don't know for certain) is whether or not the PS3 and PS4 will run on the same PSN? I feel really good that they'll still connect with each other, but I just wanted to ask you guy what you think.
Other than that, I'm really excited for the game and have been thinking about it almost nonstop since first watching the trailers!

I don't think there'll be cross-platform play.

It's not a stupid question! They have not announced if there will be cross platform play. So to answer your question, nobody knows.

Bungie annoyingly hasn't officially put anything out on this, but I assure you that there are countless people who are hoping for cross-platform capability of ANY sort. Sony X Sony and Microsoft X Microsoft cross-platform capability at the very least.

Unknown. We're still waiting for an official/concrete answer.

8 RespuestasThe thing with these new consoles, and something I think most people understand is that better hardware doesn't just mean better graphics. It means faster rendering, faster calculations, better physics, more AI, more everything. It would be nice to use take Destiny for PS4 and downgrade the graphics for the PS3, but it's not just graphics that are better on the PS4.

Many of us hope for cross generation for Destiny. Xbox-->ps and vice versa won't happen IMO. Personally I hope for cross gen so my gf can play it on the ps3 while I'm on the ps4

Editado por bmatt17: 10/23/2013 11:15:37 PMThe way I see it, is since we've heard nothing official that it either won't be possible, or that Bungie is still trying to work out the kinks to make it happen. Unfortunately both options can lead to it not being possible. Ideally I'm hoping it's like a MMO where you just log in on any device the game is on and your character is there waiting for you.

I have another friend who's going to get it for PS3 as well, but my concern is mostly about reconnecting with my PS4 friend. I haven't seen him much since he graduated undergrad, whereas previously, we'd see each other at least three times a week. I mean, he has PS3, but I wouldn't ask him to downgrade just to play with me lol
