A true halo fan would just be happy the series is even continuing after Bungie left it.
A true halo fan likes anything that takes place in the halo universe, because it expands the story and lore.
A true halo fan doesn't start antagonizing other halo fans just because in latest installment they changed the art style and 3 features in multiplayer that you don't like. And now you feel the need to ruthlessly hate on it and any other halo fans who enjoy it.

No, a true Halo fan would point out flaws where they exist and not just eat shit up just because it's out there, if the new story(ies) is shit then the true fans of the series/story will reject it. And that is what has happened with Halo 4, people are reacting as is proper when the current people in charge start -blam!-ing the series up where it really counts and turning it into something it's not. The true fans of a series do not like something just because it has the name of the series on it, that's the mark of a fanboy, not a true fan, which would be someone who actually cares about the quality and wellbeing of a series. A fanboy wouldn't care what something is if it has the label of the series on it. Just because something says "Halo" on it does not mean that the fanbase should automatically like it or adore it. New installments will be judged based on their merits and how it stacks up against the rest of the series by those who are actually true fans, now on whether or not it has the name or label for the series on its cover. Bungie or 343i have nothing to do with it, if it were still Bungie making Halo and we got Halo 4 exactly as it is now everyone would be behaving the exact same way. It's the quality of the series that the majority of people care about, not who happens to be making it. 343i were actually good (they were almost if not just as good as Bungie) right up until Glasslands came out in 2011 and after that something just went wrong. People hate 343i because the quality of the series went down and turned to shit, most of the people who now hate 343i couldn't care less who's in charge of running Halo as long as the quality is good and they're doing a good job running it.

Editado por HUNTERxKILLER: 10/21/2013 10:20:46 PMYour actually a prime example of the points I have been trying to make. Multiple times in your post you suggested a quality decrease, but gave no reasons how to improve the situation and instead resorting to insults upon 343i and its work. -A fanboy is someone who blindly follows anything that is given to them, and will appear blind to its faults (As everything has some). -A true fan is one who enjoys a series, but knows when certain things are not up to par and engages in constructive criticism and suggests ways and possible routes to overcome these faults. -A hater blindly hates the thing in question with very little if any effort put out to try and suggest ways to overcome these issues that they have with it. A creator can not learn from their mistakes if no one properly critiques their work. Blind hate will not change the situation, it is only guaranteed to make it worse.

You must have never seen my posts before then, I've gone into great lengths before explaining everything, especially right around when Halo 4 and the lead-ups to it came out. It's gotten a little old explaining myself every time I post about it though, so I almost never launch off with stating all of my reasons, let alone actually giving the details about why I think that. And many fans of 343i (not all but many, especially on Waypoint) fit that definition of fanboy that you gave, there are plenty I've seen both here and other places throughout the whole internet that act like 343i hasn't made any mistakes at all or act like they're perfect. Sometimes something is just so bad that there is no way to improve it....except by completely throwing it out. This is the case that 343i's works as part of Halo fall into, their works are not objectively bad observed or viewed on their own, but when regarding it along with the rest of Halo...there really isn't any way to fix it or ways to improve it short of throwing it out and starting from scratch. The whole entire reason why so many people are so extreme with their dislike or hate for 343i's Halo is because 343i is not learning from their mistakes, people have been explaining what's gone wrong for a while now and started off on the right foot.......but 343i hasn't listened at all, and so people who would have been willing to give them a chance to fix things (like me) have little or no patience left for 343i as they keep repeating the same mistakes over and over again or building off of previous ones and making it worse. I couldn't care less about multiplayer (never really have with any of the previous Halo games, or any other game series that's had its focus on story, and never really will) and I have pretty much no idea what 343i has or hasn't done with it, so don't think that has anything to do with my dislike for them. Story has always been everything for me when it comes to Halo (or any series for that matter) and that is where 343i are being such colossal screw-ups and never learning the error of their ways. Many people in the same boat as me started off trying to have things fixed and politely pointing out how things were wrong, but things haven't changed and 343i has only gotten worse with their story mistakes. The kinds of errors that 343i are making are really fixable by completely throwing it out and starting over, there's no suggestions for how to improve it because the works themselves are inherently a problem with the rest of the series and just don't work. The only improvement there is for 343i's story is to start over and go from there.

OBJECTION! That phrase is subjective. Players who follow Halo will define their own experiences.
-
Your ignoring my point. You can't logically be a fan of something if you do nothing but hate on that very thing. That just makes you a hater. A fan can dislike something, but they will provide constructive criticism for how to fix it. A hater just hates with no intent or attempt to suggest a better solution.
-
Well I provide constructive criticism from time to time. I have yet to be banned on Waypoint or Bungie. :P
A true halo fan likes anything that takes place in the halo universe, because it expands the story and lore.
Even if it's shitty?
-
Yes because that's subjective not fact. You can like some things more than others but if you flat out hate it your not truly a fan.
-
I'm a fan of Halo. I'm just not a fan of the new Halo.
-
Which means your a Bungie fan, not a Halo fan.
-
No, it means I like the old Halo, and not the shitty new Halo that barely resembles the old.
-
My previous post still stands for your explanation.

Okay, I liked Halo back when it was Halo. Not this shitstorm that happens to be called Halo.
-
Good for you man. I am tired of seeing halo 4 hate.

-
lolyes See I can state my opinion without backing it up to!
-
This topic was sarcasm, I love Halo 4...
-
...You just ruined your own thread. Boooo you suck.

uwot fite me

I kind of figured it was, but I just felt the need to be extremely overzealous today for some reason. You just see topics like this all the time and when you actually like Halo 4 sometimes you just feel the need to act.
-
Yeah I know what you mean.
