Do people still care about these lists? I stopped paying attention when Call of Duty spread over it like a rash.

As I said, CoD dominates, so they're only indicative of popularity, not quality.

Why would a popular game be bad? The sad thing is COD BO2 is a shit ton better than H4. And it pains be to say that because I love halo.

Because it appeals to the lowest common denominator, and that tends to dilute quality and vision, not enhance it.

If more people thought it were good, yes. BioShock Infinite and Tomb Raider were two awesome games earlier this year, and where are they on the list? Does their position, however low, reflect their quality?

Those games came out over six months ago. Players can only put so much time into them. When Bioshock was released it was at the top of the list.
