Ok so guys I've been thinking about a pretty cool idea. What if the three classes you choose from each have their own evolutions? Like once you are experienced enough in the class you become a stronger higher ranked version of it? Like for example a Warlock could evolve into a Arcanist or Spellweaver and a Hunter could evolve into a Stalker or Tracker and a Titan could evolve into a Colossus or a Tower. I know these names are probably lame as hell but its just an idea I'd throw out there. What do you guys think about this? Please give opinions.

You start as a "level 1 warlock", for example. Then, after you are experienced enough, you will become a stronger, higher ranked version, called a "level 2 warlock". It's totally game changing.

Subclasses are cool, but I'd prefer them to be indistinct rather than distinct. Sure, Destiny could do something like the original Mass Effect where you hit a certain level, you can do a certain mission, and on its completion you could choose from a selection of prestige classes. I feel permanent choices like those are less interesting, instead I think it would be better to design several different high level archetypes for each of the three classes and then design sandbox elements like weapons and Super Abillities that contribute to those archetypes. So if I'm a Titan, I could be a Barbarian by focusing on heavy close range damage over range or shields, or I could be a Tank by focusing on Armor and Shields, or I could be a Paladin with some team buffs, but none of these are distinct classes, just something you build towards.

That would be great, and if your evolution was based on what unlocks you chose or if it was a split branch so you could choose to be a detructionist or a healing style warlock or something.

Mm maybe like special call sign you get after level 10 so on so fourth

As long as the hunter evolves into an assassin, I'll love it.

Oh my God, yes! A similar system was in a few of the Phantasy Star games and it made classes infinitely better.

It'd be pretty cool.
