I didn't deny that women are hesitant to report -blam!-. That isn't driven by societal implications in my opinion. As said, a trial means a defendant has a right to face his/her accuser. Part of that is rehashing bad memories and her character. That doesn't make it wrong - a defendant not having that right would go against the foundations of the judicial system. That also doesn't mean our system is supportive of -blam!-. As for the 0.8% number, I highly doubt it and would question the method used in obtaining it. I'm by no means claiming most claims are false, but I would suspect that number is higher personally.
