The greatest travesty in public education today is the way that “scientific” theories which are far from proven such as macroevolution and man-made global warming are being shoved down the throats of children without much if any at all exposure to the alternative viewpoints. While other subjects like social studies and language arts stress strong critical thinking skills that allow for a diversity of viewpoints to be shared and thus for students to be encouraged to think strongly for themselves, the approach often advocated for use in the science classroom is designed to encourage students to swallow whole the information given to them without even thinking of having a dissenting opinion.
Evolution has no place in school. I haven't even mentioned how this is part of the liberal media machine and I have already proven you all wrong.

I agree, pastafarian intelligent design is the one and only truth.

What's to worry about? If God is bigger than science then anything we can discover is because God made it. We're just understanding his universe. That's why science doesn't big me.

1 RespuestaNo. I'm Christian and I believe they should teach evolution.
-
Until its completly disproven, yes.

1 RespuestaWe don't teach in your church... You don't preach in our schools.

My school teaches it to an extent. Although every science teacher I've had that says anything about evolution always says something along the lines of it not interfering with your faith/beliefs or that religion is wrong in any way. We have too many butthurt Christians and Bible thumpers around where I live. No I'm not implying its wrong, it just gets annoying sometimes.

Let's recap this thread.
Liberal Genocide
Ahhh, good times. Jimmies were rustled.

What would you teach them instead? You're asking if science in general shouldn't be taught, with that logic.
I recognize this obvious troll, but I can't help myself.
Evolution is a key theory in manknid. To censor it is immoral. Especially if you want people to be as rounded as you want them to be.
-
It should be mandatory because it's a fact.
-
Teach evolution in Science, teach creationism in R.E.

15 RespuestasYes as long as they also supply the opposing viewpoint... Meaning they can teach evolution if they equally cover creationism and they must be unbiased.

There are two school of through on this. Science is about hard facts not viewpoint not ideas not opinions but cold facts. I can't decide newton gravity theory is wrong because it is proved. On the other side is. Soon as some one comes along and removes the standard model 87% of the scientific community is now worth there equivalent wages in wet toilet paper. But evolution should be taught as it is the current theory. And stuff religion Jk If you are religious then being exposed to it will help you understand other view points and be more able to function in a social situation where you are with people of different opinions. (Work, etc) If you are a support then it further you understanding of evolution. So In conclusion I support the idea of evolution being taught in schools.
