Ah yes, the Dark Ages...
A lie purported by Renaissance-era scholars who were likely just mad that the Muslims were, on a whole, still better off during this time period than the once-great remnants of the Roman Empire (which is also where we get the myth that they were some grand civilisation when really they were a bunch of misogynist, slave-holding arseholes)?
We have dismissed that claim.

Sad isn't it, how easily these young kids have been indoctrinated to believe things that are absolute fallacy. There are not to many free thinkers left in this generation.
-
Look, agreeing with what the majority because it has often been proven to be correct is not indoctrination. You can still retain your individuality while agreeing with a lot of people.

A lot of it's the remnant of pre-Internet, post-mediaeval knowledge. I mean, this isn't the only generation that was taught this, and most scholars up until recently believed in many of these myths themselves. Another likely reason is that some of these myths became truth (such as the bathing one, which was a result of the Black Plague). As well, while Europe wasn't in a dark age, it was still relatively backwards compared to its contemporaries (the most obvious being China, the flourishing Indian civilisations, and, of course, the various Muslim empires).

I can agree with this, the term for the dark ages also can apply to some of the phenomenons going on, inquisition, crop failures, and the spread of disease. All of which science, and the corruption of power can explain. But the dark ages overall is attributed to many events, instead of a specific period, Christianity certainly has never been some positive force within it.

Are you stupid, he was just confirming that the muslims were a better civilization at the time. The butt-hurt is actually blinding you.

sooo, babylonians discover, and advance algebra in about 2100BC, yet, you are claiming that in 12th century AD that an Islamist invented it. Quite laughable friend.

"Al-Khwarizmi's text can be seen to be distinct not only from the Babylonian tablets, but also from Diophantus' Arithmetica. It no longer concerns a series of problems to be resolved, but an exposition which starts with primitive terms in which the combinations must give all possible prototypes for equations, which henceforward explicitly constitute the true object of study. On the other hand, the idea of an equation for its own sake appears from the beginning and, one could say, in a generic manner, insofar as it does not simply emerge in the course of solving a problem, but is specifically called on to define an infinite class of problems."

They reformed it into what we now use today. I'm posting this because you stated Islam does nothing but spread fear, violence and hatred. You are incorrect and I have proved you to be incorrect. If America and Russia didn't use the Middle East as their chess board, things would be better. Typical fearful Christian caucasian.
