And Spartans have armor lock and drop shield. Not really the best things though.

Yes they do, but those are not a part of this versus match. All the abilities the Nanosuit soldiers have come standard with their suits. Those such abilities must be found elsewhere and attached.
-
And? They still have them.
-
Not by default. They have to go find them elsewhere, but no where in the OP is it said such a thing is allowed. They're given a pre-defined set of weapons and abilities and said to duke it out. To allow them to bring any weapons into the fight at all so long as they find it somewhere around the battlefield would essentially be allowing any weapon at all. At that point, the Nanosuit soldiers could go running around finding the powerful Ceph weapons left around to tear through the Spartans, or the Spartans could go around finding any weapon or ability they wanted.

Well by that logic, just throwing my 2 cents in here, all Spartan's with Mjolnir Power Armor have armor lock. Its not an ability- (like drop shield, hologram, etc) -its a function that the suit can perform. IIRC in one of the books, several Spartan II's (like Master Chief) are falling from orbit and Chief tells them to lock their armor. Now while some didn't make it, the vast majority of the Spartans survived a fall from orbit by locking their armor. Even N6 utilizes his armor lock falling into orbit above Reach, so technically they could armor lock whenever they want, albeit just not being mobile like Nanosuit's armor harden. The arrows from a bow would be alot harder to hit a spartan than them having assault rifles (energy shields are also made specifically for projectiles) this makes enemies have to get close range for melee attacks, close range weapons, etc. The EMP grenades would also deplete energy for the Nanosuits, rendering their sprint, stealth, hardening, and optics useless. Now while the GAMES don't showcase Spartans being as strong or agile, their bones are virtually UNbreakable by almost ANY means while their speed and reflexes are also superhuman. Going based off the books (Canon) Spartans are incredibly strong with augmentations alone, this is amplified even further by the Mjolnir suit. Speed and reflexes are also unmatched, for EX; chief (aided by Cortana) caught a missile fired from a UNSC jet and threw it back before it exploded during a training exercise. Granted this is all just a scenario, Chief could EMP a Nanosuit rendering their sprint and hardening abilities useless, run up and rip the armor off, and kill/immobilize whoever is inside. Prophet and Alcatraz may be fast, but without the power of their suit, they run just as fast as any other normal human being. Another con to them, is that Chief and N6 were raised their whole lives into training. So I'd say they're also out-experienced. Granted this is all just my opinion supported by the Halo canon, I'm not saying the Nanosuit is weak or inferior in many aspects, just that I think MC and N6 would win.

However, in every case we've seen of the ability to lock armor in the games, it always renders the Spartans completely immobile for the duration of it. I don't see it as a viable option for them unless they're willing to take the risk of something bad happening while they're immobile. True a single arrow may be difficult to land, but remember that both are armed with a bow and assault rifles. They could attempt to flank a single spartan by distracting them with the arrow and then shooting them from behind with the assault rifle, for example. I'd have to imagine an arrow traveling at the speed of a bullet would be significant enough of a distraction to pull such a thing off. Also, the EMP grenades take out most of their abilities, but sprinting surprisingly isn't one of them. The only ability it removes is being able to super jump. Without it, they can only jump the height of a normal human, but they still have their amazing speed and agility. The effects of the EMP don't last too long either, and considering the speed at which the energy recharges, they could be back up to full energy in only 10 seconds or so after being hit with an EMP. Also, it's true that the Spartans are very well trained, strong, and agile, but that doesn't mean they aren't without weakness. After all, a vast majority of the Spartan II's went MIA. The Nanosuit soldiers weren't trained from childhood, but they were still military individuals well trained trained in using the suit who have faced a vast many human and alien enemies of many different strengths and won. Spartans may have better training and such, but that doesn't make them instantly the clear winners by any stretch.

True. To be honest you can't even really pick a winner IMO because they both have so many pro's & con's and advantages over eachother that its almost impossible to say who would win. I just like Halo lore so I'd say chief. One big advantage I'd say is even though It never hinders Spartans, their Mjolnir suits still weigh around 2,000 lbs, IIRC. I don't think the Nanosuit weighs that much. So if a Spartan is tired he has to lug it around, but also the suit itself is basically a weapon. I wouldn't wanna get hit with any part of a 2,000 pound armor suit.

Good point.
