(Disclaimer)
1) this post is to voice concerns I have with destiny not to hate on bungie
2) I have been playing bungie for 12 years now. I love bungie
3) no matter what I'm going to buy this game and love it
I am scared that Jason jones is trying to drive this game to a more family friendly game. My biggest fear is that there will be less blood in this game then halo in order to get that t- rating.
Watching the game play in the e3 demo I didn't notice any blood (If you saw blood please screen shot and post). I saw some gas leave there head if some one headshot them. For me however this wasn't bloody enough.
I remember the days when I could run up to a dead grunts body and play windows paint on the ground with its blue blood. That's all I really need. I'm not asking for the ability to cut off a Fallon's fourth hand in a sword fight (although that would be sweet).
I think there have been several family friendly series that had blood and intense violence in them. In Star Wars new hope a guy gets his hand cut off with a lite saber. They show both the hand and the blood. The movie went on generate multiple trilogies and a billion dollar IP.
Bungie please don't make this game to kid friendly for your kids. Think of me too... I'm like your child you never knew you had; I love all your work and am a grown-ass man how has been desensitized to blood and like to see it when he shots things up.
Here is my compromise just put a switch in options that turns blood on or off.

Ironically, keeping a less "adult content" approach to the game seems more mature to me. Think of how many games have tons of blood/gore that don't exactly give you a memorable experience in the other aspects of gameplay. (I.e. Narrative, dialogue, level design) I think that if Bungie has a powerful narrative and the location selection/design is done well enough, the majority of players will be 100+ hours in before they even realize that there's no blood/gore; mostly due to the immersive nature of the game. This is not at all an attempt to invalidate your opinion, since people have different tastes. Good post by the way, made me consider this aspect of gameplay.

And along with that switch also make it so we can blow limbs off. Is it just me or is that one of the coolest feelings you can experience in a videogame

7 RespuestasEditado por PA110: 7/30/2013 9:23:16 PMNo space battle. I have heard people on the forums say that there are e3 interviews where bungie has said there will be no ship to ship combat. That is scary to me. Why would I care to have a ship if the only flying will be the push of a button and a pic of my ship flying in a load screen like in mass effect. Or if we can fly it why would I want to fly in open space with nothing to do but look at the stars? If the game is missing space combat I feel like it will be just like another shooter (with the exception of being with your fire team threw all experiences) I want those pediment spaceships to invade earth and me and the rest of the destiny community flying into the upper atmosphere of the earth and kicking alien ass.

No blood will be atmosphere breaking, but I'll forgive them if they add space flight ;)

You need blood to enjoy a game, how sad.

I'm sure we will see blood with the Hive.

3 RespuestasT rated games can have some pretty excessive gore, it's mostly the dialogue, sexuality, etc etc which can really warrant a mature game.

1 RespuestaI get where you going but a "post apocalypse game" doesn't seem friendly with or without blood. But i hope for halo 1 amount of blood no more no less
-
1 RespuestaI've seen enough violence, the lack of blood doesn't bother me, I actually think the souls flying out is a better animation. It showcases that we aren't fighting humans.
-
Did you say you've been playing the banjo for 12 years? Thats awesome.
-
Yeah, I figured this out a while ago. Honestly, an action game doesn't need blood. Plus, Bungie want their game to be experienced by as many people as possible (I know I would), and you just can't do that with a rate-M game.

13 RespuestasHalo 3, reach, ODST barely had blood or strong language. Didnt play Halo 2, Halo 1 had a lot of blood but the others barely did.

I love how everyones like " ooohh noo. No blood!!. Oohh. Rated T fr teeeeeeennnns" But your still gonna buy it regardless.(WANT SOME CHEESE WITH DAT WINE)

11 RespuestasHonestly, I don't think I've ever seen a drop of blood in star wars. It's not necessary to make good entertainment, if anything it's a crutch. Besides, isn't something's soul shooting out of its -blam!-ing head a bit more intense anyway? lol
-
Grow up.

10 RespuestasAccording to the poll I made last night most of you would rather have assassinations with an"m" rating then "t" rating with no assassination. Make me fell like not everyone is a pussy in this community. Lol jj

16 RespuestasHello fellow Bungie lover. While you do make a valid point in your post. I would have to say that you are in the 1% of the target demographic that is worried about having the correct level of gore in your game. Unfortunately for you and other children of darkness, Bungie will most likely not listen. I also enjoyed playing with dead bodies in Halo and Gears of War. But now as an older gamer and now as a parent, I think more about game content than small details like gore. Will gore improve gameplay? No. Will gore make the game more immersive? Possibly. Will it make you not buy the game? No. Bungie has your money already, why would they add more gore for FREE? I love you, The Master Chiefs Tai Bo Instructor

Do you absolutely have to have blood in your video games in order to enjoy them?

12 RespuestasWhy are thy developing for the 360 and ps3? Personally I think the should scrap the two old systems. In my opinion they are just going to bring down the limitations of the next gen games. I think this is why we have fire teams of 3 and not 4. If this game was just for next gen it would look and play better I'm sure.
-
Meh. Personally IDGAF about gore.

3 RespuestasSince when did blood equal fun? Shooters aren't exactly the most family friendly games to begin with, but that's usually due to the control scheme rather than the content. Blood and gore doesn't stop children from playing, mind you.
-
It is only in pre alpha so that might have something to do with it and I personally don't care whether there is or isn't blood
