There is a difference between have one parent and knowing that you are missing a parental figure and have two of the same gender parents. The second can possibly cause developmental issues

How? In both cases, you are missing a parental figure of one gender.

But with homosexuals you add a parent of the same gender. Its obvious that this is not advantageous to the child and could POSSIBLY cause developmental issues.
