I mean total. You are immune to injury, illness, time and death. You could be nuked and walk away from it.

Most definitely yes.
-
I would get tired of people wanting to lop off my head. There can be only one!
-
I'm more curious to see what death is like than to live out the existence of humanity. Screw immortality.
-
Yep I'd accept it. Only because of my curiosity of what the world is going to be like 1000 years from now.
-
Yes. The chance of being able to see what comes after my own insignificant frame of existence... well, that's something I wouldn't ever want to pass up.
-
Yeah sure why not.

1 RespuestaI would wreak havoc on all of humanity, leave a few centuries to make them wonder if I even existed then come back slaughtering them all... I'm going to make a great tyrant king!
-
Immediately decline.

1 RespuestaThere is an interesting movie (available on Netflix) called "The Man From Earth" about a man who is 14,000 years old (or is he?) It's not an action movie, it's mostly dialog, but it brings up how people see themselves, how humanity views its history, and how we treat our own mortality. I would recommend it for anyone who can watch a movie that has no 'splosions without being bored.
-
I'd accept it only if I could bring a few people with me.

3 RespuestasI have always been against it, but recently find myself split. Why I should- The way I see it is that life is a relative experience. The older you are, the less significant each moment becomes. So if you live forever, then no matter what, your entire life is equally insignificant. There would be almost no way to differentiate between the "was, is and will be." In a way, you can become a time traveler, moving forward or backwards as you please. You can go anywhere and do anything you want. It would be almost as if you became God, because all of humanity's knowledge would become yours, and there would be nothing that you can't know. Why I shouldn't- Everyone and everything you love now would be gone. There's always something or someone you can turn to when you lose something you love, but with immortality, it would all disappear. There would be a lot of emotional damage, and it could be quite traumatic. Also, the fact that you never die might be something that is not possible for the human mind. We might be hardwired to die one day, and without death, we lose our minds. But that's a longshot. So yea, still on the fence about it.

How about sexual immortality?
-
Do you still feel pain?
-
I wouldn't. Immortality sucks and I'd rather not want to keep on living my terrible life.
-
Yes. It does have its negatives, but if you are completely and truly immortal, you could run the planet.
-
2 RespuestasWell, I'd discover time travel eventually, right?
-
No thanks. The sooner I can get out of this chickenshit outfit, the better.
-
13 RespuestasOnly if I can clap my hands three times and shout "Let me die!" so I can die. If I lose my hands, then I'll just shout it.
-
6 RespuestasYou could plummet into the core of the sun and be vaporised there would be nothing left to be immortal so there's no such thing as true immortality
-
Live forever. Become the emperor of all of Earth. Get all the women. Conquer the universe.
-
Yes. Also, I have never understood this it's a curse thing. I'd rather take the bad that comes along with immortality then not. Think about it, you have 80 something years, years you can't even live doing what you truly want. You'll spend most of your time either in school or working in order to try to have a decent life. You'll also have people you care about die regardless of whether you're immortal or not. Plus, why would you want to play the guessing game with the afterlife as well? I'd rather be immortal then hope for an afterlife or ceasing to exist (if there is an afterlife, I'm not going to a good one anyhow). inb4someonelinksthatcrackedarticle

I would.

12 RespuestasWhat if you got a life sentence? I'd only accept this gift if I had super powers that made me invincible.
-
I think that would suck, because all your friends would die and you would be lonely. I think I would rather be mortal.
-
Yeah, I would.
