There was a lot of differences from the E3 and this, so that's cool... mainly that the hiccups in the stream are gone and the voiceovers were simpler. Does the sniper rifle change names or how is the naming done? I really loved "Shut up and get behind me" as a name, haha.
The other thing I noticed was enemy overlays with their level and health, so that's cool. The radar looks exactly like Halo except it also indicates people beyond your range by slim bars, it also did show a red enemy triangle during the big boss fight, so I assume it shows depth as well.
Other things I noticed:
1. There's a +x indicator whenever something significant happens like a critical or kill next to the ammo indicator, I assume that's points or something
2. The left slot looks to be the grenade he uses and the right the warlock ability, wonder if you can use any ability in any slot
3. Looking at the gun skill screen, the things I see relevant to leveling up are Glimmer, Weapon Kits, and Talent Points. Sounds like you need all 3 to acquire new weapon skills
4. There's an Inventory screen we haven't seen yet
5. You can use an avatar image
6. There's a tagline or something, his says "male human warlock"; but it might just be specific to your class + character.
7. I hope the "-BNG" is a real thing, i.e. not part of his gamertag, so we can officially have fire teams and manage them like guilds
8. Armor is helmet, arms, chest, ring, and boots
9. Not sure what the small horizontal lines are next to certain items like the guns and hand/chest pieces. Maybe sockets?
10. It says "Winter Moon" on the weapon screen next to the level; maybe that's the current mission or world, not sure.
11. When he hovers over the weapons, a grid shows up where I assume more weapons you're carrying will be. According to the grid, you could carry up to 12 other weapons. It also appears he's carrying two other pistols and one other primary.
12. The weapon slots appear to be Primary, Special, and Heavy for a Warlock.
13. Looks like we can only upgrade certain weapons as the pistol/rifle do not have an Upgrade button, only the Thunderlord.
That's what I saw, looks awesome! I can't wait to play.

That grid you mention seems like it can scroll past the actual 15 squares at the top, as you're able to pan around the avatar screen. Given that there's a dedicated inventory menu besides the avatar screen where it seems you manage your upgrades, I wonder how inventory management will work.

Editado por external: 7/8/2013 12:44:11 AM
2. The left slot looks to be the grenade he uses and the right the warlock ability, wonder if you can use any ability in any slot
Given the above image of a print from E3, it seems each class will have one or more "grenade" type abilities with infinite uses on a cooldown equippable in the "left" slot, usable with L1/LB, and a more "expensive" ability with a longer cooldown that you use by holding L1/LB and pressing R1/RB. I'm guessing then that we'll be able to "ready" that grenade ability by holding L1/LB or possibly even "cook" it, which would be great. All the abilities are listed on the controller in black but some of them, like the Warlock's Glide, are additional button functions, in this case on the jump button. This is probably just showing the default controls and abilities for this gameplay demo so we might see other swappable or equippable abilities for each class in the future, but it seems they'll likely follow this "grenade/magic/movement" convention as far as ability types, each with its dedicated slot/button or button combo.

Thanks for the analysis! Very helpful!

when you pause it were you can see guns and clothes. what is that lower then the chest and above the boots? i also paused where he was looking at his thunderlord.I saw that there levels to the weapons, accuracy, stability, handling, magazine size. Magazine size probally for the rounds of ammo you have!
what is that lower then the chest and above the boots?
That's likely the armband on Deckard's left arm.
I saw that there levels to the weapons, accuracy, stability, handling, magazine size. Magazine size probally for the rounds of ammo you have!
Undoubtedly. All weapons appear to have a base magazine size stat that may be able to be upgraded depending on its upgrade path. Note at 7:23 the Thunderlord's Ammunition talent point reads "Increases your ammo capacity, shoot longer without reloading" and +1 Magazine Size. Given that it starts with a +1 already, and has a capacity of 36 rounds when Staten equips it, I'm guessing +1 might add as much as 18 rounds of capacity to the magazine.
-
Seems like the small horizontal lines are an indication of how many other weapons/armor you have of that type. So no lines if you only have the one you are carrying, one line if you have one extra unequipped, two lines if you have two extra unequipped and so forth.
-
Indeed. I wonder if what we see here represents Deckard's total inventory, or just the number of weapons he's got access to while on this mission. Given that the Ghost serves many roles, it might be able to teleport weapons and gear from our armories aboard our personal craft to us on a mission while not in combat...
-
Only if all the classes have ghosts :-) I've seen people talking about the Ghost being a warlock-only feature.
-
Nope, all Guardians of the City get a Ghost the moment they become a Guardian. Everyone gets to have a Ghost!
-
Ah that makes sense!

Editado por external: 7/4/2013 3:14:32 AMIf you re-watch you'll notice the "+x" is definitely ammo pickups. Ammo, because he only gets them in multiples of +3 for the Viper P3 (3-shot burst fire rifle) but just ones and twos for the Duke Mk. 44. Notice also the flash behind the ammo count in the HUD. Pickups because they don't appear every time he gets a crit, but rather when he's near an enemy's corpse. For example, see the two greenish metallic toasters near the loot orb that drop from Rixis after it gets a solar flare to the face, and which disappear simultaneously as a +2 is displayed next to the Duke on the HUD. Those are ammo pickups.
-
Good catch, it doesn't seem like a lot of ammo esp since it appears you can't pick up enemy weapons ala Halo.
-
Editado por external: 7/8/2013 12:23:28 AMTrue. Given that this is not the ammo from enemy weapons and that they seem to be "generic" ammo. One ammo box does not seem to give you ammo for all three slots, however it's clearly one slot to one ammo box. In other words, the generic ammo seems to break down into different types of boxes that seem to refill either your primary, secondary or heavy weapon. Side observation, the ammo boxes in the E3 footage all seemed to be the same color, but speculating for the game further down the road that they'll employ some visual cue to differentiate the primary/secondary/heavy type ammo boxes from one another. As far as scarcity goes, they don't need to be nearly as plentiful as in Halo titles, since they'll refill any of these three "classes" of weapons rather than specific types of weapons. The only time you wouldn't pick up any dropped ammo now is if you're full, whereas you'd trip over weapons full of ammo you didn't want looking for the ammo you needed for that empty weapon in Halo. That won't happen in Destiny. What might vary is how many shots you'd pick up for a semi-auto rifle versus, say a full auto or pulse rifle (one type of multi-purpose ammo box, yielding different number of shots depending on weapon equipped). Same would probably go for a hand cannon versus a shotgun (possibly another type/color ammo box for secondary weapons). And another type of ammo box for heavy weapons, which would again give you a different number of shots whether that heavy weapon you happen to have equipped is a sniper rifle or a rocket launcher. So they can still control ammo scarcity for those really deadly, low capacity heavy weapons. You just won't be passing up sniper rifle magazines to try and find more spare rockets, the same ammo box can be used to refill either.
-
Yeah but I see the infinity symbol next to each weapon - so I guess it does not measure ammo quantity?
-
Editado por external: 7/7/2013 10:49:11 PMTo clarify I meant that apparently they can pick up the ammo boxes despite the fact their ammo is infinite. The pre-alpha demo build must be tracking their default, non-infinite ammo count in the background but simply overriding the code that dictates a player can't fire the gun any more when its ammo reaches zero. Something like that. Essentially the infinity here means they can reload and fire the gun even at zero ammo, and not that their ammo is always at maximum. Otherwise they obviously wouldn't be picking up the ammo for those weapons.
-
Agreed. Pre-alpha feature IMO. Although ammo scarcity could really be an interesting feature of Destiny - maybe trade it or get it from special places, instead of having too much?
-
Apparently not in this demo, no.

None of his attacks were grenades. They were both magic attacks. He has the purple ball thingy and the one that's commonly confused as a grenade is a magic attack where you throw a mini sun. It's not a grenade
-
Gotcha, good catch!
-
lol it's definitely not a "mini-sun" either.
-
What? I said it IS a mini sun attack. Most people think it looks like a grenade but it is in fact a magic attack. SPACE MAGIC!!!
-
What? I said it IS a mini sun. But most people find that it looks like a grenade but it is a magic attack. SPACE MAGIC!!!
-
That attack was called solar flare, The description reads:
Solar Flare: Conjure the power of the sun and release it like a grenade.
So in all technicality, a "mini sun"
