The most obvious answer is "No, why would I?", but bear with me.
In the #Bungie Forum, someone asked what to expect from Bungie Day. I made a long list of general things I could remember Bungie doing on Bungie Day. Among this list was the old Harrison's Mom Faux pas. I went looking for the post, and found it, but had to do some digging. In the meantime, I skimmed through a lot of Urk's old posts during the Golden Age of Halo 3.
My God are there a lot of them. I forgot that at one point there could be three or four posts a day just of community posts, then add Urk's official posts. We were a community, taking part in constant projects, Double EXP weekends, Humpdays, and the everlasting quest for Recon (back when Recon was cool). It was actually hard to keep track of everything. We were as united every day as we were during the Alpha Lupi teaser. LTG dominated the B.net groups list. The Classifieds actually existed, and filled multiple pages every day. We created epic Custom Games and Maps with a forge that sucked. We had FLAMETHROWERS. We had the flood. Every noob on the site rocked Hayabusa, and the cool kids rocked the Katana and Recon. Halo 3: ODST was about to come out, and while some argued whether it was worth 60 bucks, still others set out to recreate Firefight with infection. Bungie video rendering was the greatest thing to happen, and people actually cared about the bungie favorites.
Maybe I'm seeing it through rose colored glasses, but I remember it being awesome. This isn't one of those "Now look at us! What the hell happened?" posts. Bungie and the community have both evolved, quieted down, gotten a little whinier. It's not bad at all, it happens. I just want to remind those of us who were there what it was like. I hope we can get back to that we can reclaim some of that awesomeness with Destiny. I hope that Bungie makes Destiny its greatest game, and that the Bungie community rises to meet it. See you guys Starside.

1 RespuestaEditado por Bvenged: 6/29/2013 1:20:50 AMRose tinted glasses indeed, but when you take them off, 2009 was still a damn spectacular year for Bungie, its community and all Halo fans too. Xbox Live benefited from Halo 3 and the Bungie community more than people could imagine and that Microsoft give credit to. I miss those days but I look forward to the future.

I miss the days of 2007 when Halo 3 first came out. No reach, no halo 4, just pure real Halo.
-
Yes, ODST was showned, Halo 3 still ruled and was "pure Halo" like a member said.
-
3 RespuestasWas that the Bungie vs The World game on all the Sandtrap Forge maps? That was a good day I spent marathoning on Halo 3, I met a ton of people that day.
-
I do miss those days. I'd have 20-25 friends on, almost all playing Halo 3, and a ton of Custom Games to choose from.
-
2009? pffft. 2008 was where it was at.
-
Humpday write ups were awesome.

9 RespuestasCall me noob all you like but what is bungie day exactly?
-
Yea those were the good ol' days for me because I remember just having non stop enjoyment for the entirety of Halo 3's existence and still do today. It was really the golden age of Halo 3 that will always have a part of my heart when it comes to gaming.
-
Absolutely. It was so nice to see George Bush inaugurated in for his third term. He earned it! All hail our king!
-
It made me sad to even read that honestly

The year you are looking for is pre 2007 during the golden age of halo 2 when we were having even more fun making maps and inventing the zombie game type with team changes and honor play. 20 min to evac Zombies Tower of power Troy Swat Race to the banshee (no idea what it was called actually - on ascension - everyone raced to the banshee. First person there got in - everyone else was stuck on platform and had to doge the banshee whom tried to knock everyone else off) LOCKOUT Actually good 1-50 system. 50 mean you cheated or were a god 40 - 45 meant you were damn good.

I loved those awesome days of Halo 3. An awesome multiplayer to just jump in, game, and not give a flying fudge about anything after that game. I miss Halo 3's simplistic multiplayer. Halo 3 days I find were the best, now multiplayer gaming is about ranks and unlocks -_- not just jumping in with friends and just having simple fun. I wish Halo 3 came to PC.

5 RespuestasOh do I miss those days. I remember winning Recon from Bungie day for what I think was completing the most games even though my teammates quit the game, lol!
-
I miss the darkness, Halo 3 and the very early days of reach.

Editado por Lord Commissar: 6/27/2013 10:00:14 PMBungie favorites sucked when they outsourced it to groups. When that happened it went down the shitter because people used it to advertise their own shitty content instead of what was actually good in the community. Katana was never cool and people only wanted recon because they couldn't have it. Flamethrowers were pretty worthless. You're seeing things through rose tinted glasses.
-
Don't worry, it'll be like that again in a year ;)
-
I miss the darkness and Halo 3 in its prime.

if it was not for halo 3 i would not be a videogame nerd i am today i would probably be some riped jock if it wasnt for halo my live would suck i miss 2009 more than anything

1 RespuestaI actually dont agree. 2009 was when I stated to frequent the place less. The tryhards were replaced by cynical nerds who never knew when to stop. I seem to be one of the few people who actually like Bnet..

I was lurking around when all of this stuff was happening. after seeing it all, I decided to join in late '09. Best decision I have ever made.

2 Respuestas2009 was shite

2 RespuestasEditado por stellarstead: 6/27/2013 8:55:05 AMIn 2009, I'd look back into even older days than that and have a "What the hell happened?" moment...and I'm sure most oldfriends feel the same way. It's been a while, but you ain't special. No one is. Besides, you guys missed the Group Wars, the days of Frankie and Mister Chief, Letters to the Webmaster and a bunch of other shit that I'd have to get drunk in order to reminisce and have it flash back to me like repressed memories.

Editado por squirrel dude: 6/27/2013 4:57:21 AM*thinks...* 2009... What was the big thing that happened that year... Ah yes, Porchday. What a "great" year. Well, it's certainly better than the previous year, not that saying something was better than the worst year in Flood history is really saying much.
