Last few years of politics have been crazy, especially since the last federal election which resulted in a hung parliament (neither major party won outright), and constant leadership spills leading up to this.
Will definitely be an interesting night.

The hung parliament was really good. I hope it happens again.

Editado por TrussingDoor: 6/26/2013 5:54:04 PMI'm American, and even I think your election system is weird and -blam!-ed up.

Australia is a crazy country with leaders continuously being ousted.
-
this whole thing is so confusing to me. I don't like the fact that anyone from the party can just challenge the PM

Editado por CharcoaI: 6/27/2013 10:01:12 AMWhat happened essentially (For people that don't fully understand/Aren't from Australia): - Liberal were in government - Labor won, and were led by Kevin Rudd (PM1) - A little while later, Kevin Rudd was demoted and a new PM was instated (Julia Gillard - PM2) by the party - What's happened today, is a few weeks before we (the Australian people) go to vote, Labor have gone back to PM1 (Kevin Rudd) As you can imagine, a lot of people aren't happy; a lot of people are happy; a lot of people are very confused; and a lot of people don't care

Editado por Quantum: 6/26/2013 10:22:46 AMWhy are so many different Labour parties doing badly in the last 3 years LOL? Trying too hard to appease both sides of the equation? Go Rudd. Edit: She lost! http://www.nzherald.co.nz/world/news/article.cfm?c_id=2&objectid=10893164

As a Kiwi I sincerely hope she gets ousted. Bring back Ruddikips

6 RespuestasEmperor Gillard is busy this evening.

Editado por Co M4N: 6/26/2013 9:28:06 AMI'm hoping Gillard gets outed, don't care though as I'm wanting Tony Abbott to become next Prime Minister. Although I don't give a shit about it tonight though. State Of Origin takes my focus. Come on maroons QUEENSLANDERRRRR.!!!!

7 RespuestasEditado por Fat Tony: 6/26/2013 9:45:57 AMRudd has won the ballet, definitely means that they'll get more seats in Queensland. I just think the way they've gone about explaining their plans and portfolios has been horrible - a lot don't seem to understand that the party got us out of a recession which affected a whole lot of the Western World, and is currently planning to improve ties with China; instead, it's just a lot of lemmings following the word of dumbasses like Alan Jones. Anyway, this bullshit couldn't have happened at a worse time. STATE OF ORIGIN PEOPLE! GO NEW SOUTH WALES!
-
looks like mah boi ruddster is the new PM
-
Eh. At this point I just want them to get it over and done with. This shit should have been dealt with months ago. That said, I do hope Rudd gets back in. I don't want Abbott as PM.

1 RespuestaThe entirety of my knowledge about Australian politics. Apparently something like this happened after the video was made (June 28, 2009).
-
Both of our two main parties are terrible. Future party all the way.
-
Well, if the loser's leaving politics then at least this will be the last one. Having this happen so often is distracting and gives the opposition an endless supply of ammunition.
-
7 RespuestasI read the articles, but as an American I am having trouble understanding what has actually happened. Do you guys not hold elections like we do here in the states? Does one person just decide to challenge someone and an election happens?

Australia seems like the type of place that doesn't need a government. Everything over there just works itself out.
