Destiny in Q1 or Q2 of 2014
Ok so the reason why Destiny is not releasing this year is cuz Activittion does not wanna conflict sales with COD Ghost which is smart cuz with a game this hyped and this muzz buzz and potential, dont be surprised if it out sells COD.. But anyway wouldn't it make sense to release the game early next year while the current gen consoles are still the primary console for some people? I dont see them releasing it mid year cuz the majority of the gaming community will probably have the next gen consoles and if ur selling on 4 consoles, u wanna release at a time that is suitable for Destiny to still be played on current gen consoles while not the majority of gamers might not get the ps4 or xbox one right away,hence why it would be very important for activision and bungie to release the game early next year to make the most money cuz the next gen consoles will still be fresh and not occupid by everyone and the current gen consoles will still be used by a lot of people, and next fall wont be a good time cuz im sure a new COD will be on the way,so does anyone agree with me?? What is everybody's thoughts on this, I think I make a very valid point...

January 7, 2014! Why? Because its the 7th (we all know how Bungie loves the number 7.) And its a Tuesday which is the most common day of the week for video-games to release.

1 RespuestaI think it's coming out in 2014 because it's not ready yet. I recall them saying they worked hard just to get that E3 demo running. Going off that, I imagine the rest of the game is a bit unfinished. As for which quarter it's going to be released in, the impatient bastard inside me wants it to be released as early as possible. But you do make a good point with Activision not wanting Destiny to conflict with CoD sales. Even if they cater to two different audiences.

11 RespuestasThe game is in pre-alpha according to Bungie... so my bet is holiday 2014. We're not talking about building a single player experience like HALO, this game will be huge and bigger than anything Bungie build so far and even with the awesome tools they have at their disposal it will still take a lot of time to polish the game, these are my reasons to say think it will release at the end of the 2014.

1 RespuestaIf it was Q1 we'd know since the game would have been advertised as early 2014 and Activision-Blizzard would have the game as part of their fiscal year. Expect April - November. I'd bet on September.

End if Q1. That's a huge game release time so expect Destiny to be dropped around then.

On topic though, I think a release towards the end of Q1 is most likely. The initial contract with Activision siad that the game was supposed to come out [i]this[/i] year, so clearly Bungie thought they'd be in beta rather than pre-alpha right about now. I can see them needing more time, but not 6-18 months more.

2 RespuestasI'd like to think Q1 for my own sanity. But apparently the game is barely finished yet so that rules out the staggered release date to stop it conflicting with CoD. Also, what makes you think most of the gaming community will have the next-gen consoles by mid-2014? the current gen consoles will still be supported for another 5 years, and there's a reason for that.

I don't know if the FULL GAME is even coming out in Q3 of 2014, as much as it pains me to say that. But the beta (assuming they do one, and it's public) could come out in Q1 or 2, based on how much progress they make.

6 RespuestasBoth M$ and Sony have revealed their lists of games available at launch and during the "launch window," which ends at the end of March, 2014. Unfortunately, Destiny isn't on either one. :(

5 RespuestasQ1 most definitely. By then, it will easily be ready. They are all ready in the pre-alpha stage. From what has been said, they basically have the maps for the game, they just aren't connected yet.
