You really shouldn't lie to yourself. Cloud Saves = Always online, servers go down and you are screwed. Specs = Nobody uses USB 3.0. Actually, it's specs are that of (gaming wise) a Mediocre PC and (media wise) a Smart Tv. Last I checked, Xbox can't replace my TV since it requires a TV to use. Multimedia = Again, Smart TVs do all of that better. If you don't own a Smart TV, simply wait a few years when they go down in price. Kinect = Never lived up to it's full potential the first time, and is unnessecary IMO. I simply don't see any reason I need to get the product. Which means the marketing failed already. The Cons outweigh the little Pros it has. Backwards compatibilty was what saved the 360 in it's early years (Playing Halo 2 while waiting for Halo 3 to come out). Online requirements and 1 install DRM are bad. No Game talk, and honestly the last few years of the 360 have been lousy. No, I'm not getting too old to game, but maybe I'm too old for Console Gaming. WHEN PC GAMING has less DRM and Anti-piracy measures then Consoles (and remember, PC was really bad with this until recently. no it didn't get better, consoles simply got worse.) SOMETHING IS WRONG.

  • -If the XB1 is going to be always-online, someone should let MS know. You have local storage for saves- 500GB worth, plus whatever you want to plug into the USB 3.0 port that nobody uses (BRB, informing motherboard manufacturers). -Smart TV's are laughable. The products lack the content ecosystem and ease of use that the word "smart" requires. Then there's the little issue of having to buy a completely new TV, just so Samsung can drop a shitty Pandora app into the machine and call it a day. With the cheap-as-hell, more functional smart boxes that are out now, the only reason to buy a Smart TV is to say you have one. -Did anyone actually think the new generation would have backwards compatibility? Seriously, how long has it been since we knew the XB1 and PS4 were going to use an x86 architecture? -PC's have always been better gaming machines-- and better machines for piracy. The proprietary code and DRM locks put on console games make them more of a hassle to pirate, and they often require console mods to play. If you're "too old" for console gaming, you should know just how much better PC's are.
