I notice many of you comapling about being banned so I made a thread on 343i forums to talk about it. here are the results:
https://forums.halowaypoint.com/yaf_postst206739_I-want-to-have-a-brief-word-on-the-ban-system.aspx
This is hardly a new issue and it has been addressed many times before.
There are other ways to contact us such as twitter or XBL since our forum names are also our GT's.
In addition, there is also the Forum Ban FAQ thread with information on ban appeals. That post is viewable if you sign out of your account to view the forums - as are the rest of the forums themselves. You simply cannot interact.
The bottom line is that using the forums, and that includes your inbox, is a privilege, not a right. If you'd like to discuss it further, feel free to PM the admin team about it.
I understand where this moderator is coming from but I feel a little jaded about how posts talking about the site or policy are censored. I think it isn't fair to me nor anyone else who simply want to give their opinion on site functionality. If I can't give feedback on the forums, how is anything supposed to get better? Isn't the point of a forum to interact with one another?
EDIT:
Your account has been temporarily suspended. This suspension is due to end on Monday, May 6, 2013 8:12:13 AM.
My account got banned for making this thread and talking on Waypoint. How utterly ridiculous is that? I get banned for giving my opinion, and best of all, there is no rule on 343i I broke (according to their site rules).
Why would someone get banned for offering a suggestion in the suggestion forum? wtf

Editado por Mishaya: 5/3/2013 10:53:50 PMMeh. I've banned more for less reasons! inb4 someone takes this seriously

Editado por DEZARATH: 5/3/2013 2:15:53 PMI'm not banned, but you could see waypoint becoming sterilized. Plus to be honest what's left to talk about Halo 4? I suggested numerously to open a Halo 5 forum so a lot posters like myself could get back to more positive posts like speculation, competitive, and storyline threads over the numerous complaint threads. Like always utter silence or a two week ban. So I left of my own accord and all the luck to them. I'm done being angry due to 343 and I left Halo on a good note. I'm excited for Destiny, the Last of Us, and Watchdogs and any new sci-fi game that wants its PVE community. Even if Halo 5 is incredible there is but one sure outcome and that is the Halo community will destroy it from criticism to online trolling. It's just not worth playing Halo anymore because it just makes everyone miserable. In your case the mods have probably been informed to keep the Halo 4 forum clean and not let anything get out of hand as to present unity on the official forums, so yeah they're going to come down like a bag of bricks on anything non constructive or not kissing the derrière.

3 RespuestasEditado por God: 5/3/2013 7:59:16 PMI like how the moderator says you shouldn't have posted that since you posted the same thing six months ago in the 343 suggestions forum after redirecting you to the FAQ. Did he not understand that you weren't asking a question? I've seen plenty of these Waypoint threads and I mostly ignore them, but this is the first time one has actually made me mad.

Been banned for the same and for less. It's whatever. Seriously not worth making threads about at this point. It's a known-bad system.
-
A mod called you on your shit, and you were banned. Quit complaining.
-
3 RespuestasThe good news is that your ban expires on my Bungie.net birthday. Happy birthday to me.
-
BANCEPTION! But yeah, this is nothing new.

Editado por Lord Commissar: 5/3/2013 10:27:16 PMThey banned another guy on here for politely disagreeing with the OP of a thread who believed that Halo 4 was the best game yet and that 343i had done a fantastic job. IIRC his post went something along the lines of "I disagree OP
some text that was quoted
So where does that leave those of us who don't like the way things turned out?"
-
You got temporary ban for posting the same topic twice which is considered spam. You deserved it.
-
5 RespuestasWaypoint mods banning people for no reason? I am shocked by this news.
-
Hmm. That's rather unnecessary on their part. You were only offering friendly advice.

1 Respuesta
I get banned for giving my opinion, and best of all, there is no rule on 343i I broke (according to their site rules).
Hey, all those bans that Bungie did? They were banning people who were giving their opinion too. Giving your opinion isn't excuse from a ban if you word and phrase it like a neanderthal while simultaneously insulting the OP or part of the viewers.

32 RespuestasThe mods at waypoint are garbage, they are killing that already weak forum.
Thank you for reading and keep up the good work mods.
Lolololol you're funny.
-
I liked when he called you out for posting the same thread complaining about their ban system before. That was funny.
-
2 Respuestas>snickerdoodle That explains a lot.

Editado por Pfhortnite: 5/3/2013 7:34:11 PMLucky you. I still have yet to be banned; The Bungie mods made me polite.

heheheh

You should know better than to question modding decisions on waypoint.
-
So many of these threads. Just stop posting there, I think you are losing brain cells by going back.
-
ban them back

1 RespuestaIf people just stopped using Waypoint.. life would be less stressful?

2 RespuestasWhy do you guys keep making threads on there that you know your're gonna get banned for??? Then after you get banned you run home to B.net and complain about it! Just deal with it guys.
-
Honestly, why do people even use Waypoint nowadays? Only to get banned and make a thread on Bungie.net? We know, 343 Industries is having a shitty time with Halo 4 and its community that somehow Bungie handled for years before 343 Industries was even an idea. Honestly? Welcome to the internet. When you go to a website you will always be met with stupidity and iron-fist moderators who are going to ban you with a reason or without one (and get away with any excuse) this also could happen on Bungie.net, even when you genuinely didn't want to do something bad. Deal with it.
-
I got banned on Waypoint once, and BS Angel did it, however, the mods couldn't find trace of it. I was like, Shadow banned? But yea, I intentionally got banned because they annoyed me when they gave recon to everyone. Also, everyone has pointed out that Waypoint is reminiscent of the Third Reich, so no surprise that you got banned for that thread.
-
Don't go there so I don't care. Still not as bad as BSN. Someone got mad enough that they threatened to kill me, I reported them many times and days later when they were finally banned it was only for five days, but I got permanently banned within hours of posting for making fun of a moderator's signature thread closing comment of "End of line". Freaking Internet -godwinslaw!- everywhere.

First rule of Ban Policy, don't talk about Ban Poli ---- oh crap!
