After playing games all my life and feeling so many emotions in so many games, I was wondering.....What game(s) have made you have such strong emotions and why? It can be any game, any system.

1 RespuestaEditado por Tartan 118: 4/10/2013 12:31:07 PMHalo 3's ending is beautiful more in that it's Bungie forever leaving its most beloved and popular character of all time. Halo 4's ending because you know damn well why. Gears 2 and 3 have very powerful moments involving Dom and Maria. I felt more emotion from BioShock 2 than 1. Specifically when leaving Rapture, and watching fall away forever
(or so I thought)
one of my favourite game settings of all time. Certainly my most beloved. And the happy ending music is... just... perfect. Posted it above. Finally, BioShock Infinite's beginning is so indescribably heavenly that I felt amazing walking through it. And the ending also makes me tear up,
the sacrifice that Booker is making for his daughter and all the abused of Columbia is incredible
. In terms of pure aesthetic beauty, few games top DE Human Revolution for sheer awe-inspiring realisation of visuals and music and direction. BioShock is one that does, of course. Braid is also a visual and musical treat, both sweeping and delicately intimate.

2 RespuestasShadow of the Colossus. While I had been gaming for quite a long time by this game's release, this was the very first game which actually left me emotionally devastated by the end. Journey. This game is bang-on perfect through and through, but the last 15 minutes in particular was the most beautiful thing I've ever experienced in a video game. Austin Wintory's soundtrack for the game never fails to play with my emotions in ways that so few composers can, and that final shot as you walk through the mountain was stunning. Halo 4. What can I say? There was so much subtextual and emotional depth to the last 15 minutes of this game I couldn't help but shed a manly tear or two by the end, saying goodbye to a character you've known and loved for the past 12 years never gets easier either. Bioshock Infinite. One of the most perfect endings I think I've ever experienced, it was the post-credits scene which did it for me I think - after all you go through, a universe is formed where Booker and Anna can live together happily. Portal 2's ending did get me somewhat emotional as GLaDOS chose to save Chell and let her go, followed by the turret choir (which was -blam!-ing awesome) and that sudden sense of freedom and uncertainty you get as you step out into the open world for the first time. Need I even mention Mordin and Legion?

8 RespuestasMost games I play give me the emotion of RAGE! Nah.. frustration, usually. I'm so bad at some games. Then there are games like BattleBlock Theater that make me laugh and smile SO much, it's ridiculous. Minecraft gives me the opportunity to express my emotion in creativity. Every emotion you can think of.

Editado por BritLemon: 4/10/2013 3:09:20 PMDon't click if you haven't seen the ending. When I was a young man, I had liberty, but I did not see it. I had time, but I did not know it. And I had love, but I did not feel it. Many decades would pass before I understood the meaning of all three. And now, the twilight of my life, this understanding has passed into contentment. Love, liberty, and time: once so disposable, are the fuels that drive me forward. And love, most especially, mio caro. For you, our children, our brothers and sisters. And for the vast and wonderful world that gave us life, and keeps us guessing. Endless affection, mio Sofia. Forever yours, Ezio Auditore. Assassins Creed Embers, manly tears were shed during that ending.

Editado por Cobravert: 4/10/2013 3:03:32 PMGetting the high score on Asteroids in the arcade - Extreme pride Beating Ganon on TLoZ (NES) the first time - Elation Beating GT3 (PS2) - meh. It was a goal, but I Game Sharked it. Beating Halo - YEAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!! Republic Commando - SEV!!!! WE HAVE TO GO GET SEV!!!!!! Beating Halo 3 solo / Legendary the 1st time - I'm awesome. CoD / MW - When the bomb goes off and the copter goes down, then your character unceremonially dies - Shock. They really just did that? Halo 4 ending - Utter disbelief. I sat there for 10 minutes just dumb struck at they allowed Cortana to derez. Oh and when Dogmeat got killed by a glowing ferel ghoul in FallOut 3. Stupid dog... Now, in all games at some critical point or other, whether solo or online MM - anger. Sheer and total 'I'm gonna destroy that at !%!$!%#!%#!!!!!!' It just happens sometimes.

When I first finished Halo 3 I knew it was going to be the last in the series and initially had thought that Bungie opted to have the Chief die. Holy hell this cutscene (link) just knocked the crap out of me and I will honestly say that there was a tear during this... luckily after the credits rolled I was completely relieved! Halo: Reach also had a pretty damn good emotional story, but nothing that hit the feels on the level that Halo 3 did. Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy 6, Final Fantasy 7, Star Ocean and Knights of the Old Republic would be the other games (that I can think of) that I felt had great story to try and bring emotions out in you and you really immersed in the whole game experience. I would put in the Force Unleashed series, but the torrid repetitive gameplay sullied the experience for me......

Skyrim. There was one that wasn't even a quest. While going to Solitude as my Imperial knight I see a dog running towards me. I had a feeling it wanted me to follow him. The Dog's name was Meeko. I followed Meeko into the woods and I saw a shack it looked like someone was living there. When I looked inside I found , if my memories serve me correctly, a Nord dead on his bed. Next, I saw a journal next to his bead on top of a Barrel. I read it and found out Meeko's owner was dead. He died of Rockjoint disease and is going to miss Meeko, his loyal companion. He wishes one day, Meeko and him would meet once again. I teared up. It was a sad story. I hate how a small section of the game could evoke more emotion from me than the main quest from the game.

3 RespuestasWhat? No one gives a crap about the Deus Ex games?! I'm appalled!

SW Republic Commando ending, SEV NNNOOO. And Halo CE-3.

I actually shed tears at one point of FFIX.

3 RespuestasHalo 4 ending was one of the most beautiful advancements of character I've ever seen. Halo 3 ending also gets me, despite the 12 or so plot threads that were left completely unfulfilled. Mass Effect 3, because each time I think about it I am filled with emotions of hate and dread. Not just at the ending, mind you.
-
2 RespuestasMordin Solus... The best damned Scientist Salarian ;_;
-
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of the Sky. Also, Mass Effect 3 had various moments like this for me. Mordin and Legion, but most of all, Thane's funeral in the Citadel DLC (romance version). As other people have said here, Halo 3 and Halo 4's endings also were beautiful. Even Reach, which I hate, has quite a powerful ending. Speaking of endings, most Metal Gear Solid games have pretty powerful endings. Then there's also Chrono Trigger's ending. And lastly, the entire games of The Walking Dead (Telltale), Silent Hill 2 and Shadow of the Colossus invoked lots of strong emotions.
-
I really think Halo 3's ending was beautiful. It was very subtle too, seeing John fight for his life in the hangar of the Forward Unto Dawn and desperately scrambling to get to Cortana as the local array fired at the ark. The way his entire body just relaxed as the tactical pulse washed over him and Cortana was shocking to me. And I remember seeing the memorial scene and crying when Admiral Hood said he had died. Which made it that much sweeter when I sat through the Credits and saw he was still alive. Of course, then Halo 4 happened and ruined that moment.

Walking Dead Gears 2 Gears 3 Only 3 games that have ever made me cry.
-
Legion :'(. Also Cortana D'': What is it with me and sentient machines?
-
A number of games have elicited emotions for me, but the one that really sticks out to me is To The Moon. It's a really short game done with SNES-style graphics, but the game's journey though one man's life, his ups and especially his downs, sent my emotions all over the place. I've never played a game that made me laugh out loud, then tear up a few minutes later. And the ending is absolutely beautiful. This description really doesn't do the game justice, though. It's a masterpiece.
-
The Walking Dead, no question.
-
The Walking Dead game puts some great emotions, especially whenever you have to make difficult decisions. Spec Ops: The Line makes you hate yourself for what you do. Halo 3 really hits all the feels. I know it's mostly cause of the memories me and my friends had on that game, but man. That game was before all the stupid fighting we all had or when you just don't see them anymore.

1 RespuestaEditado por Sesto: 4/10/2013 3:38:56 AMMass Effect 3. Some other games have come close but nothing beats Mass Effect 3. My first playthrough of Mass Effect 3 was an emotional roller coaster, and even if the ending was shit, it will always be one of my favourite games because of that. Honestly, some of it was the fact that I overestimated Bioware. When I was doing the last missions of ME3, I was incredibly scared that if I screwed up someone would die. Obviously now I know that it wouldn't happen. However, playing the final Earth mission, believing that there is a chance something bad could happen if I messed up, made it an incredibly exciting. This is kinda off-topic though, as there were plenty of other moments (Rannoch, Thane, Mordin, etc) that didn't involve this.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution :O dem goosebumps
