The things -blam!-ing expand from ping-pong size to soft ball size. I doubt weight is something that can be realistically thought of when it comes to Poké balls.

Well then, sounds like my initial post stands. The weight of those things could be anything if they can hold huge Pokemon in them, and they can shrink.

Well if they somehow sent the Pokémon to a different dimension (like the TARDiS) then it would only weigh as much as the ball itself.
