The police werent doing anything wrong. They were just removing some tents that the college wanted removed.
Posted by: Maxwell_Murder
Posted by: obs1d10n
Posted by: Maxwell_Murder
Posted by: LoI Coddam, @ 13:14 when I saw the police car I was hoping it was just gonna run everyone over. Maxwell murder whateverthe-blam!-yournameis, you're an idiot."Durr durr there was kids taking cops hostage and stuffs, peacefully, and the cops used pepper spray, but it was high potent spray! it was peacefull! saying -blam!- the police isn't mean durr Im gonna pepper spray you at the store no lasting effects durr." Open your eyes and watch the -blam!- video. Kids turned into a mob and took police hostage, then the police used pepper spray. Don't gimmie -blam!- about the police could've just walked past the kids, if the hulk was blocking your path being "peaceful" would you just walk by him all dandy with you prick in your hand? Watch the video again but this time try not to be bias, just with a neutral mind watch it and see how you feel. Because When I first saw the og video I thought it wasn't justified but now after seeing this I agree with the cops decisions.
Ok, what we need to do is clarify something. There were two incidents at UC Davis. 1 - The students blocking the police from taking down their tents and encircling the police. 2 - The students sitting on the ground blocking the sidewalk. If there were an appropriate time for the police to pepper spray the students, it would have been during the first incident. During the second, they were peaceful and showed no intention of escalating the incident. Since it is public property, the students have every right to peacefully protest by sitting on the sidewalk.
Peaceful? Peaceful? They had the officers encircled and were saying we will only let you leave if you release them. How is that peaceful? They were threatening the officers.
Did you miss the entire part of my post where I separated the two incidents? In the latter, they were sitting. Police could easily step over them, and you see them do it in most of the videos from that day. They are not trapped.
No, because stepping over them would have put them in a disadvantageous stance. Along with the fact that they are responsible for the people they arrested. How are they going to drag them over a group of people. They were warned multiple times to move and they refused to move. Stepping over someone who is hostile is a great way to get put in a bad situation fast.

Around the 9 minute mark in the video is where I get the idea that they're not taking this seriously. Your seem to have misinterpreted me in your second statement; I meant that I thought that they as in the protesters, not the police, had attempted to twist the news coverage of the event in their favor by picking and choosing footage of the event that showed them in a good light, and not explaining the events that happened beforehand in detail (at least the video of the pepper spraying that I had seen).
they treated it like some sort of -blam!- game.
How so? They were protesting. Hardly looks like a game at all.
Their demeanor during the video didn't seem very serious, if you ask me.
You're high. Not serious? They weren't joking around and laughing. I don't see how you can possibly think they weren't serious.
The way I see it, they tried to twist the events of that day to make it seem that the police were wantonly spraying protesters with pepper spray. From this video, that doesn't seem to be the case.
I don't think there's any way to twist a cop pepper spraying sitting students as "the right thing to do".

After watching the whole thing I have one question. Why do the students cheer like they just won something? Didn't there tents get taking down? After that weren't the police trying to leave? So what did the student accomplish? OK a series, but honestly, after watching all I can think of is that these adults are acting like children..
