Heartwarming D2 Moment
Was farming Ultimatum and Eternity Spire checkpoints when I came across a duo at [b]Ultimatum Persys[/b].
Inspect their loadout and know they are woefully unprepared.
They turned out to be a couple; married over 40 years. They said they have been in the encounter for a while, so I offered to run them through Eternity Mode.
They loved every moment. Showed them easy routes for nodes. They hadn’t seen a Warlock Well Skate before when I jumped the gap to 2nd Encounter. Amazed. It was midnight US and I was determined to get them back to boss.
I don’t think they had done Spire much, so when we dropped back to the boss chamber, there was an lightbulb moment returning to Eternity Persys.
Told them to slap on Ghally and we 2 phased, friended after.
Destiny 2 still has great moments, but you need to take the time to see them.

Guardians like you inspire us to be our best where it matters. So many people are put off by easy encounters with simple mechanics because there’s too many toxic tryhards that ruin the game for the general public.

Only played recently after a 6/7 week break, and that was only because an old friend wanted to get his mythoclast catalyst from VoG. That being said, good job man. It’s great to see some of us haven’t lost the spirit to help strangers achieve in the game. 🫡

Reminds me of great times back in D1. I'm so glad there are still a few people like you left. Just wish I had the desire for that kind of time again, but my desire to play D2 is not what it used to be. Hurrah to you Deus EP

This is a great counter to anyone who says "it's just a game." No, like most things, it's what you make it! Meaning, worth, purpose, etc. are in the heart of the beholder. Beautiful. Stories like this is why I've spent hours helping people through raids in D1. I'm not saving lives, but there is power in helping others even in the smallest of things. You're a welcome addition to the Destiny community.

There are moments like this all the time, people willing to give their time to help others, for chase a title, a catalyst, whatever. Destiny players are mostly really nice, pve players anyhow. And random people will help you for no reason other than they can. If people actually asked me for help more often, I’d help more. As it is, I think a lot a Destiny players are shy too.

[spoiler]It's absolutely -blam!- annoying that some people count the first part as an encounter! It isn't, it's no different than VoG fresh. Neither give a CP on reaching the area if you load back in from orbit. It gets confusing and makes joining others harder since you don't know what encounter they're really unless they request deathless and even then. Is this particularly the player's fault? No, bungie could've made the listing title be 1st [b]encounter[/b] rather than 1st [b]checkpoint[/b], but that would be shifting the blame too far bc you dumb -blam!- would still be referring to the opening part as the first encounter! If it doesn't give a chance at non holofoils having double perks, it's a bonus chest. 🖕🖕🖕So -blam!- each and every last one of you!🖕🖕🖕[/spoiler][/spoiler] Have a nice day 🙂
