I dismantle 99.9999% of everything in this looter-shooter?
...the weapons are old
....they don't even refresh perks
.....some are not even enhance-able basically making them sunset
......not to mention the RNG of getting the 1 or 2 choices you wanna test out
.........not to mention the economy that makes even getting a chance at the lousy RNG and the lousy retired old weapons..
..........not to mention the near continuous stream of garbage armor that I've been dismantling since what seems to be the beginning of time
.............but oh cant wait for XUR on friday to gift me curated crap or a random chance at old unenhanceable crap

Same, an vault is almost empty. I use around 8 weapons consistently the rest is set to the bin.

1 RespuestaI'd realized something today. Random loot was so much better in forsaken, annual pass (og one) and a while longer because of one simple reason: perk pools were smaller. Now we have every weapon with 10 perks per column. Rolling good ones there + good barrel + mag + masterwork is absolutely insane. Craftable weapons allowed to avoid that. Random rolls still existed but you could get SOME good random rolls and at the end of the season you were guaranteed weapons that you desired so you would not end up empty handed. I haven't been playing a lot, almost not at all this season, but I got barely anything, maybe one roll worth keeping. It's absolutely dumb to even try.

I just need to pick them up to delete the item so it doesnt go to post and bump out infusion fuel that I save in there. Older weapons without enhancement, are basically sunset without having to do so officially. Just powercrept because the enhancement mods make it worthwhile to enhance in order to use. I was surprised that some weapons from 2023 events (like Stay Frosty and Taraxxipos) could be enhanced, when none of the Dreaming City weapons can be despite being updated at the same time. I am going to take some time to go through the vault and clear stuff out. There are now weapons which I have that overlap (with the only main difference being element in the same slot). Some are enhanceable, while others not (Nightwatch vs Taraxxypos for example). The stat packages also have changed from when zoom was factored into range stat packages, then the effect removed, and range normalized... so now we have older weapons which still have high zoom, but low range... and it feels bad in comparison to one with slightly less zoom, but much higher range. Basically, making a lot of the old sunset weapons kind of useless despite being able to be brought up to power level. I have felt for a while that there isnt much draw for me with loot in the game. I have come to a point where I have seen enough shiny things that I just want good experiences, not chase the next shiny item in the sand before it sinks out of sight.

2 RespuestasWithout a power creep there is very little reason to want a new arc pulse when you have several already. If what you are chasing isn’t better than what you have, where is the incentive to get the new thing? Bungie wants us all to keep playing in the past. Keep grinding power, keep grinding old content with new but not improved or better loot. Let players over level. Let the power fantasy exist in older content abd yes, power creep is necessary.

Bungie only fulfills your wishes through a monkey's paw system to punish you for asking. Bungie: We've included the ability to automatically dismantle certain gear for resources while playing. Players: That's good! Bungie: Using this feature will reduce the amount of resources you get from the dismantle by 25-50%. Players: That's bad! Bungie: We've increased the cap on the amounts of currency and resources you can hold. Players: ... That's good? Bungie: We've made it so that auto dismantle is automatically applied to most gear. Players: Can we go now?

That would be the inevitable result in any loot game if you play long enough. Bungie have done well to keep it up this long. Live service is a crap vehicle, everyone knows it but its profitable.

1 RespuestaSadly I do too, have for a few years now. I used to try to keep 1 of every type for bounties but I don't even do that these days. They should have stuck to the planned D3 when we got beyond light instead. Not sure they can fix it now Truth be told, I've not cared about loot since they reskinned gunsmith guns for wrath of the machine, that cut deep, I totally stopped raiding after over 200 vog & crota clears. In fact used my mic for the 1st time today since like 2015 getting the kells catalysts.

This made me realize that our experiences and expectations were different completely. As a veteran player my pov is as of yours, compared to my friend who just started playing and experiencing it for the first time. Now my friend does not look up meta builds or what he needs rather he just tried everything, despite me giving them the guidance they need for builds, they play completely how they want and try things normally no one would. It's quite compelling when you look at it from a fresh perspective, this is why everyone wants a destiny 3 so they can experience it for the first time and find the new. It's hard to justify stuff like this but it's nice to learn how others perceive things compared to our own analogies.

6 RespuestasI agree loot needs to be better but the complaint that you scrap 99% of it is silly Literally every looter game ever is like that. Borderlands FFXIV FFXI WOW Diablo Poe Hell even every single gacha game has you scrapping trash gear. Not every piece of loot you pick up will be the next best thing since sliced bread. I do agree with the sentiment of D2 loot being overly useless, but that said you don't need god rolls for anything this game offers except Trials. You can solo most dungeons with some of the worst weapons and perk combinations imaginable. Unless they make the content challenging (not by locking players to be underleveled but through actual mechanics, enemy AI upgrades, enemy composition etc) there is no reason to chase better weapons and there's no reason for them to even bother creating good weapons when you don't even need them.

8 RespuestasWhen you hit endgame and you’ve got all the weapons crafted you will see that you don’t need to keep 1 of every gun but instead hunt for a handful of weapons that can roll decent perks, for example I’m currently looking for, Crux Termination IV w/ reconstruction + explosive light Maahes HC4 w/ repulsor brace + destabilising rounds VS Velocity Baton w/ demolitionist + attrition orbs These are to name but a few and to your point you will end up dismantling most of the loot you get. You just need to filter through it until you get your desired rolls. This season in particular I’ve kept none of the seasonal weapons as I think they’re not worth keeping compared to other weapons in the game.

I haven't fired the majority of weapons in my vault, not even once, maybe one day they'll become useful, sometimes I dump them in there because I don't have the time to check the stats and perks but it is a real pain spending hours going through the vault to clean it up so they just sit there collecting digital dust ... most of the weapons in this looter-shooter are meh.
