  • Hi again, Thank you for trying the troubleshooting and for sharing this information. If other players are able to join you through Fireteam Finder, then this would seem to indicate the accounts of those who are trying to join you may be experiencing issues, not your own account.

  • can you please see my notes below and respond I am still stuck, tested it with 10 other people yesterday, same issue, it is not others. Even checkpoint bots cannot send me an invite but you can watch them on twitch invite thousands of people... How do we escalate this and trouble shoot further?

    its every single person that tries to TYPE /join on me cannot join. Fireteam finder builds the group for you, it is a different joining mechanic. I have completed every single troubleshooting step, created a bran new account and prove it in video. That account can /join ANYBODY but me, I can prove that to you as well if you like so its NOT other people, its MY account with the issue. I go on LFG forums and have tested with 50+ people that /join all day long, not a single one can /join me NOR can they /invite me (as i showed in my video), even TYPING /invite to me says Target not online! I have my friends unfriend me, they cannot /join on me, then they friend me and can. Not a single person, ever, can /join on me if they are not my friend or clanmate. Lets get online right now and I will prove it with Bungie directly! What are other options we can look at? How do I escalate this, there is clearly something wrong with MY account. How do I get a call/escalated troubleshooting on this?

  • @BNGHelp8 Please let me know what the next steps are to address this... I feel this is close to getting the help needed and I will do anything I can to support the troubleshooting, testing, etc.!

  • Hi again, Thank you for your detailed replies. Having reviewed the details you've shared, it occurs to us that you may have public joining turned off in your settings. Can you please check your Social area in your Settings menu and check your Roster Preferences? Fireteam Privacy should be set to Public. You may also wish to experiment with adjusting the other settings there, as this will hopefully resolve this issue.

  • Hi again, Thanks for your prompt reply. Apologies for overlooking this. As another attempt to work around this, could you please reset your settings to Default, and then set them back to Public? The Default button should be located at the bottom of the screen.

  • Dear Bungie Support Team, I am writing to inform you that I have independently resolved the issue I was experiencing, without any meaningful assistance from Bungie Support. After considerable trial and error, I discovered the issue was specific to my Bungie account. To resolve it, I created a new Bungie account, disconnected my Steam account from the problematic account, and linked it to the new account. Now, everything works as expected. This solution came at a significant cost to me. I had to forfeit all historical Bungie rewards and re-add all my friends, placing an unnecessary burden on me simply to regain access to a functional gaming experience. Unfortunately, throughout this process, your support team repeatedly ran me in circles, asking me to perform the same troubleshooting steps over and over. This consumed countless hours of my time without yielding any resolution or meaningful progress. To be clear, the issue is not related to my computer, network, or settings. It is a platform issue specific to Bungie accounts. I am willing to collaborate with your engineering team to troubleshoot this problem at a technical level, should you choose to address it. As a dedicated member of your community, I am concerned that unresolved platform issues like this could contribute to the ongoing decline of your player base. I urge you to take this feedback seriously and allocate the necessary resources to investigate and resolve these account-specific issues. To help others who may be facing similar problems, I will be sharing my experience and solution on Reddit, X, and other social media platforms. I hope this will provide clarity and guidance for other players struggling with similar challenges. If Bungie would like to engage in a technical investigation, I remain open to assisting your engineers in identifying and resolving the underlying problem.     No luck. I have done this and did it again. Remember if it were a privacy setting the message to the user is this person doesn’t have their settings open not an error and target not online message. Also inviting me gives the same error as well and my settings are all open. What other options are there? Can’t anyone trace a log from when the error occurs? Can we get on a troubleshooting call?
