First, the expansions we are getting will be Shadow Keep sized, they will be bigger and offer more than what Curse of Osiris or Warmind offered (we also still get seasons) Second, Bungie has been catering to casuals non-stop and are now choosing to dedicate themselves to the dedicated players who actually stuck around. Third, Crucible is in a bad spot due to casuals, end of.

  • You really think a team of just over 100 staff will give you 2 shadowkeeps a year, when a tean of 400 could only manage Shadowkeep? Almost all the expansion team was laid off & the seasonal team are now running D2, next 2 dlcs are about oryx & the fallen home worlds & were supposed to be next year's episodes. They've already confirmed you're getting 1 less dungeon & 1 less raid. We are getting seasons yes, but only 2 per year & it's purely a seasonal track & event, no story, & just 1 opening cut scene to set up the event. Destiny next year will be very different, it'll be a game you play once a week not once a day. Expect location sizes like warmind, don't expect strikes or PvP maps. They've been told to work with what they have & have been given minimum budget For context the team was 200 for light fall, the same 200 did final shape until the 4 month delay when it boosted to 600 & most of the content we got outside of the campaign was created. Taken king had 450 staff & delivered 3 times any expansion after it outside of forsaken & forsaken had 700 staff & 2 Activision studios & a year delay. In the words of Jason Schrierer & Jeff Grubb, destiny is in its death spiral, all parties agree (they've both spoken to bungie & Sony directly), there's no stopping it now, & you'll only see the affect of the layoffs & changes next year & it'll be a drastic dropoff.

    First - Can I get some of whatever it is you're smoking? Second - You do realize that the game dies without the filthy casuals, right? Third - PvP is rough for the hard-core because the "casuals" aka "cannon fodder" left or are leaving. Look, been around since D1 Beta(trust me, that ain't some kind of flex), but without those "filthy casuals", this game I love would not still be here.   • PvP is in a bad spot due to SBMM, it doesnt matter about casuals if the hardcore cannot have fun due to needing to sweat every match. PvE is in a bad spot because its been shaped around casuals who dont play often so content drops are over multiple weeks. Also, im a D1 alpha player so i know how this game was and how its always been.

  • SBMM is the problem. Bungie implements it once a year and every single time the player count drops off a cliff. Average players and better do not want to sweat every game they play. Above average players and better sont wanna wait 5 minutes per match only to go against the same handful of people on loop. No player wants the lag caused by SBMM. The only people who benefit are bad players who get to feel average but then suffer because they cant actually improve making them get their a**es handed to them when they touch something like Trials of Osiris which doesnt have SBMM. SBMM has been the cause of so many issues for gaming and especially Destiny.

  • Outlier protection is a form of SBMM. It matches using skill so that theres no one outside your bracket that would lead to lopsided matches. Its literally SBMM with a new name.

  • So youre using steam. The platform that costs the most to play the game. Ye, PC players are leaving. PC players are also less likely to be casual gamers given the money spent on a PC to effectively run their games. Bungie has catered to casuals for years. We got easier missions, rally flags everywhere, SBMM, buffs to the casual guns, fireteam finder, longer waiting periods for the main quests. Bungie have narely taken note of the dedicated players until recently when they said that the dedicated players would be their focus going forward. People leave games that are too easy and have too little to do, focusing on casual players (people who will only play a few hours a week) will leave your game dry and way too easy which will push people away including the casuals.

  • Umm. No. I am an Xbox player actually. But you have avoided the question I actually presented. It doesn’t matter if the numbers I showed are Steam, Xbox, or PS5. If you lose more than 1/2 your player base on any of one those platforms, it’s a disaster in terms of the health of the game and the economic viability of the game in the future. And Bungie employees lose jobs when not enough subscriptions are sold. But I get it. Your elitism as a player matters more to you than the health of the game. Fair enough. I personally think that view is sad. But I realize you are hardly alone in your attitude.

Numbers are still higher than curse but curse was console only. Back then lows were 180k PvE 170k PvP, so as you can see, PvP numbers are now half of what they were during peak previous lows, & now includes steam too. Numbers bottomed with light fall when they removed levelling & the people forced in there didnt have to play it.

    😂What nonsense are you talking about 🤦🏻‍♂️ if you are not attentive or did not read what they write in twab, I feel sorry for you because you do not understand anything at all and your words are just the delirium of a madman ... everything was the other way around and now they are trying to sit on such chairs to make it so that people who love the challenge could get it with the new settings and also not to make it inconvenient for those who do not want it !! the new dungeon is an example of how everything should be !!! one team will pass the contest mode in 1-1.5 hours and everyone who does not want it will be able to start the normal mode ... here is an example of the loot of the contest mode you will get 100% exotic weapons, if you want to try it or just enjoy the first playthrough ... you are just 🤡 and write such posts just for aggression ... I feel sorry for you, you sound like a loser ...a devoted fan of hardcore main who doesn't even have any decent awards... you're just a dud...

  • There's absolutely zero chance any new locations will be like beyond light. The staff is half of what it was, & the budget even less . Think warmind, almost like half a planet with 3 small zones.
