Mnk needs nerfs n PC need cap limitations, If destiny is made to be hard for PC players n mnk, it will be unplayable on console n controller. At some point input will have to be more similar..

Consoles tools ain't gonna get much better unless they get PC tools, so maybe PCs tools are too good for the job .. 600 plus teams on PC beat the new raid to 4 on Console for contest.. you are using better tools... I offer an example: spire of the watcher, last boss. You kill the Minotaur and get the buff you prepare to shoot the five nodes to unlock the boss. Similar skill players... By the time a controller player shoots one node the mnk player shoots the four remaining nodes, this is not a skill issue this is a your peripheral allows you to do that and mine doesn't issue.. If something so simple is problematic for a controller user in comparison to a mnk user how do you make the game harder for the mnk user without make it impossible for the controller user.. Something needs to change..

  • I think you gotta come to grips with the fact that yes, PC hardware, both input and rig, are going to have higher ceilings than console ever will. That is not changing. BUT, the floor for what is possible remains the same across the board. There's plenty of people who play controller on PC 100% of the time. Not to mention, you're using outliers as examples talking about who finished the contest raid. Those are all VERY good players, regardless of system or input. We should not be trying to hamstring their abilities or cap them in any way simply because your available ceiling on console is limited by your platform choice. Nothing needs to change regarding this.

  • Mouse and Keyboard isn't something you can just "nerf" or lock the function of sensitivity without making the game feel terrible, and one of the main draws of Destiny 2 is how great it feels. Controllers have personally never felt right for FPS games, sure it can work but for aiming a reticle there are very few tools better than a mouse. Granted, I have been using a mouse and keyboard for FPS games since the mid-90's for Wolfenstein, Doom, etc. so there is a bias for sure. However I also had several console (Nintendo 64, Playstation 2) games as well later on, which also felt lacking.

Your example from spire of the watcher is an example of personal inability, not the input device you’re using.

We had 3 PC and 3 PS5 players but are counted as a PC team. Additionally I played on PS5 and there was no situation where I think that MnK would have given me a big advantage or anything. You didn't need any crazy plays anywhere in the raid. It was just about consistency.

      • It only shows that controllers never meant to be used in shooters. Same with mnk, but in fighting games, racing games and sport simulators. The fact that you need aim assist in order to use a controller is just stupid concept on is own. It makes controllers competitive in pvp and basically does nothing in pve. There is nothing wrong with mnk in D2 in pve, it's just feels like devs balance pve around mnk. It's just so much enjoyable to play pve on mnk compared to controller.

          Thats confirmation bias, most of the people taking the raid race seriously esp when its that hard are die-hard gamers and streamers. Hardcore gamers and streamers are gonna favor PC and MNK over other platforms because of the accesibility, ease of streaming, and customizability. Comparing a raid that took as long as last wish to complete to the average non contest raid experience and going wahhh PC too good is dumb. Many top skill pc players use controllers aswell.

          • They should allow us to use mouse and keyboard on consoles. I mean, the ps5 supports it. Just need bungie to add it in the game for console players

              • Meanwhile PC players limit frames during contest mode to make it easier since they take less damage on lower framerates. I play on PC with controller and honestly don't see where you're getting at with this. When I played on console before going to PC I took much less damage in the same situations in PVE. The differences now on current gen are much less than they were on previous gen, where it is a very similar experience on console and PC. In PVE, as long as you are over 60fps, the experience is more or less equal. Next gen consoles should even have wheel less of a gap between them.

                • Does the game still do damage checks based on frame rate? I don’t keep up with hardware stuff. The game was developed for console tools. Most if not all of the broken stuff in the game has come about because of PC.

                  • Yup, everyone, and I mean everyone, at all times should be locked to the FPS, FoV, resolution, and load times of the PS4 and Xbox One across all aspects of the game That'll keep things fair with those PC cheaters and make the game more enjoyable for everyone

                    • What in the new raid requires any fashion of quick turning that a mouse would be able to do better lol? Even Spire regardless of how fast an mnk player can do it gives you ~10-15 seconds to close the nodes before you fail lol The reason for the completion gap has nothing to do with hardware and plain and simply is just a skill gap between Console and PC which can be seen in basically every single game that exists on both. Also if you are just going off the symbol next to the completion on the raid report that's just the platform the host was on.

                        There is a difference in wanting a better challenge and purposefully choosing unfitting hardware. Few people (if any) would play Streetfighter with a steering wheel for example and there is a reason for that. Shooters in their core require precision and swift (low delay) turn speeds, neither of which fit the sad excuse of an input device that is a controller in this regard.
