Abilities getting dialled back has been on the cards for a while. That’ll definitely help.
Making shot accuracy more important was unexpected. A pretty bold move I think.
Bungie said they wanted to cater to their dedicated PvP players, and I think this shows that. I’m looking forward to trying out these changes.

1 RespuestaEditado por Meaga: 2/20/2024 7:00:11 PMThey are already doing that, let’s let these changes play out and then see what they need to do afterwards. This could be a huge meta shift so they need to let the players figure out what is what for a second after this update. My hope for this update is that they keep down the route if needed headshots

7 RespuestasNah, this wasn't it, as someone who PvPs hard these changes are band aids to the real problem All they needed to do was heavily reduce AA and bullet magnetism on all weapons so that knowing how to aim properly is the main skill All this TTk change bs is just lazy, and it'll still be the same if you can place your reticle a meter off a player's head and still get a headshot Bungie truly doesn't know what's up with their game, Destiny has to be the easiest FPS to land crits in and it's that's not a compliment

3 RespuestasTypically what happens is players complain about the thing they asked for. So the cycle will likely continue here. A decade into this series: I have never seen, ever, the playerbase happy with PvP. It ebbs and flows with certain types of players having their moment, but it never lasts.

8 Respuestas“Dedicated PvP players” … aka the 10 streamers out of the 250 people who still play at all. The changes are as misguided and ill-advised as everything they’ve done in the past year.

8 RespuestasPlayed a game of Rumble yesterday. Top dude had a 21.0 kd. I was second. My kd was 0.67. So, yeah, definitely not enough gap. That’s way too close.

1 RespuestaEditado por Cal O'Mari: 2/16/2024 2:03:07 PMI feel requiring better accuracy is a great move, especially for hand cannons and snipers. Their power needs to be chained to great detriment, to not suck the variety and life out of PvP. That's huge. Requiring pinpoint accuracy, with very VERY little forgiveness seems like the least intrusive, best way to do it. Its not quite pinpoint, but I'm willing to see how I feel. Less ability crutching is a mixed bag. On one hand its Destiny. We love abilities. I know I do, but build options make this a chore to deal with, and has always been a problem with PvP. There is a vast separation between builds and honestly? They probably need to turn down ability usage, but only in PvP. PvE we should be able to spam that stuff with how insane everything is. It makes PvE alot of fun, and feels less overwhelming. Personally I feel that in PvP, with such wide build gaps between players, abilities can be a problem. It really needs to be focused much more on weapon play, with ability use being a secondary/ tactical use. That's how I've always done it. I know it does serve me well when matches are relatively balanced, so I'd hope it serves more people the same, but no idea. I could see it widening skill gaps though, but I feel like most players are competent enough to hit the target, so it would be more beneficial than detrimental. I feel like most people who talk down about others there, are really just trying to sound better and inflate their worth. I doubt its as bad as people think.

How about putting all the tools playing bow/hc or shotgun in their own Playlist so they can spam each other to death.

1 RespuestaThe special ammo change was a good idea. Not too happy about the ability changes, though, especially since some supers already take forever to charge.

9 RespuestasNone of that matters unless they dial back controller aim bot

2 RespuestasYes because players who have less skill will enjoy being killed that much faster. Making PVP just for the dedicated, read sweats, PVPer is not going to increase player numbers or engagement. Yes those players will like it for a moment, but as soon as they realize it is driving even more players from the game mode and casuals become even more scarce, they will be screaming how bad it is.

1 Respuesta100k daily PvP players suggest these changes are indeed for the PvP diehards bcoz they're nit bringing anyone back who left. I'm trying to see bungies logic & work out the future & everything I see & hear suggest the game will be run on fumes after final shape & they'll be happy to milk the remaining addicts until the well runs dry. I just read a leak on twitter from last summer saying bungie have very little planned for post final shape in the way of content, just patches & tiny updates. It all adds up, especially these PvP changes given the state they left D1 PvP in, almost confirming they're just gonna let it sit here & people can always hop on & play it

I like the idea but expect less popular weapons to require more tweaking. There's something supremely unsatisfying with focusing on volume of fire over precision to keep up with SMG TTK creep, and there's a certain point in current matches where you can be the unlucky sob who spawns into a new super 6 times in a row.

2 Respuestasi just want to have fun in the game these changes makes it less fun. makes it slower to play people just team shoot (we have seen this every single time in check mate) gathering only to dedicated people fail to bring new blood in to the mix Best state for me was back in forsaken when -blam!- was crazy and fun to play. If i want to play a slow swet fest ill go play something else

2 RespuestasBack to vanilla D2 pvp, it is mhrmmm

9 RespuestasGive them a week They will knee jerk change everything back when Twitter and Reddit flood with casual complaints Bungie tries to please both sides of the fence and gets impaled on the fence

1 RespuestaSkill gap …..skill ….good one 😂 Highest aim assist around and then people use third party devices like aim bot is just wild . Crucible isn’t looking good right now …..people desperately hanging on to destiny pvp 😂

3 RespuestasThat’s an interesting take. Several seasons ago, they wrote about how the skill gap was too great. Games being won before any shot was taken. That’s when they started the loose-sbmm and trying to make it more fair. Now if your take is correct, they want to widen the skill gap again. Seems like a cycle of never ending work to me. Bungie PvP Teams is basically like: “Put in sbmm- close the skill gap, now loosen the loose-sbmm even more, now bring abilities down so it’s more gun focused, ok now put cbmm in some games and loose-sbmm in others, ok, let’s take freelance-solo-based-MM out and put in FTMM, now lets put in quitter penalties in, ok let’s lets loosen those penalties, Lets make special ammo less available, ok now lets make special ammo less available- but you can earn it with kills, now lets give you some special ammo to start with- but also scale you can fill up- but you’ll lose points to the scale if you act badly.”
-
1 RespuestaWhat skill gap? With aim assist and aim correction being hidden stats, there's nothing saying "skill" in destiny PvP
-
Bullet magnetism is still fairly strong, so I don't think it will be as bad as some are saying it will. That being said, I would personally like that checked out especially if they are prioritizing accuracy. We'll just have to see how it works in a few weeks time.

2 RespuestasEditado por Coal: 2/16/2024 3:11:17 PMIncoming robots who can’t hit their shots so they’re mad all their ability spamming is getting nerfed

2 RespuestasSorry to tell you but slower killing weapons and less abilities narrows the skill gap. Much more forgiving and boring.
-
4 RespuestasSame here! They sound really fun and I can’t wait to make apes cry even more 🤪

4 RespuestasShot accuracy is less important because they are buffing AA. While crit damage is increasing to scale with the increase in health, crit registration is becoming more forgiving... So, actual accuracy by the player is less important because as it stands currently, you can shoot a player in the crotch and register a crit... so now will a toe shot hit for a crit?

30 RespuestasAll the jimmys are already crying claiming it’s going to slow down pvp 🤣 like buddy it’s you that’s choosing to play slow because you’re a lost pup without fast regen abilities and special. Checkmate for me is actually fast paced because I can feel my opponents weakness. I’m only mad they nerfed my beloved crimson.
