No-Lifes and NeckBeards
You know who you are! Anyone better than me at anything is a no life neck beard mother’s basement diaper wearing junk food eating loser!
Just reflecting on the subject because I was called one, even though I have trouble playing more than 10 hours a week lately; obviously we all have jobs and family or school and friends/gfs. Some can play more than others, whatever.
But everyone need to understand one basic thing:
- Some people have natural skill. Others need to acquire skill through practice and hard work. And some people don’t have much skill.
This can be true for games, music, sports, anything. Some people can be bad at one thing, but great at another. If you are bad at something and complain about it, that’s being counterproductive. If you are determined to do something, nothing can stop you except time.
Don’t insult people who are just good because you don’t want to put in the effort to get better yourself. It’s pathetic. Just man up and work harder! You’ll accomplish anything you want.

You’ll accomplish anything you want.[/quote] They’re very catchy, motivational phrases, but the truth is that people have different limitations on what they can achieve purely through hard work. Our potential is partly decided by things outside of our control. At least some of what we achieve is “god given”. No, that shouldn’t be an excuse for underachieving, but I’m more in favour of finding a healthy balance between dreaming big and cold, hard reality. [spoiler]Also, it’s a space magic, power fantasy video game, so the idea that some people want to have an easy time shouldn’t be that ridiculous. 😄[/spoiler]
