Kd doesn't matter right? But I'd still like to see my actual kills and deaths without assists messing with the numbers at the end of a match.
I'd like to know whether I actually did good or bad. If I'm improving or not.
I just had a horrible game but I was top scorer on my team and I didn't go negative? Excuse me? I could've sworn I just got killed repeatedly...
Assists don't help me in that regard. It's not about elitism or any of that I just wanna know the stats for any given match.
Tell me I got 4 kills and 20 deaths, but a perfect lethal abundance geezus.

The problem with k/d is the moment it’s brought back it will be the only stat that matters to 90% of the player base, and it massively affects any objective game type, the other issue is even in game types like clash, it encourages focusing on being the one to land the kill shot and players that do get more assists end up not getting the credit they deserve for their effort, efficiency is actually a better way to judge your improvement as a player anyways vs k/d as I know people that have high k/d but don’t register high on the score board because they exclusively pick from extreme range with scout rifles, sure they have 2.0+ efficiency but who cares when they only managed 8 opponents defeated and had the lowest overall points contributed and fewest assists, to me a player that get 18 opponents defeated with a 1.5 efficiency and say 10 of those were assists but they also have much higher score and point totals than the 2.0 player, is a much better player overall, due to significantly greater contribution towards the win. There is a point to wanting to see the stat though and If your concern is whether your winning your gunfights in 1v1 situations type of thing, there are external tools, I’m sure you know that and would prefer it to be in game, and personally I’d be fine if they added it in the stat tracker on app or something, but I still feel they should keep k/d off of the in game end of match board, there’s very good reasons why they moved away from it and as I said before I think efficiency is a much better model, some would also prefer a model like KAD which means an assist is worth half of what a kill is worth, lowering overall efficiency scores, I personally don’t agree with this model because it again encourages focus on being the one to land the killing blow, which encourages some play that is very campy imo and hinders team play.
