So, yeah, title. I'm finding D2 considerably less fun as time goes on due to the difficulty being ramped up further and further.
I haven't really played since last season, so I wanted to load back in and start catching up on everything, see if I can get some nice rolls from FotL, that sort of thing.
I ended up loading into Altars of Summoning today and was getting constantly wrecked. Is this is the pleasant experience I want with seasonal content? I cannot say it is. I can understand Crota's End being unpleasantly hard, it's a raid, but the new dungeon? I've done it a handful of times because, again, unpleasantly hard and bosses with ridiculous health pools.
It's frustrating because this season the seal is cool and I'd like to order the pin, but gosh, Neomuna sucks to be on - difficulty is too high, gameshow announcer is terrible. The seasonal content sucks to play because the difficulty is too high, previous seasonal content sucks to play because the difficulty is too high.
I tried to do the legend mission for the Vexcalibur masterworks and, again, what is with this? This is too hard, and I say that as someone who spent the effort doing a solo legend Seraph's Shield.
I want to do the seasonal content. I want to do the cool story stuff.
The game apparently does not want me to play it.
Edits: Correcting what I mean about Vexcalibur.

6 RespuestasYou are entirely correct. Bungie has been catering the game to a tiny hardcore community for some time now. All the 24/7 playing streamer neckbeards have been asking for more difficulty constantly. Because they have an elitist mindset, want to gatekeep content and rewards and want to feel better about themselves. Obviously those clowns can easily do all that now "hard" content. They have all day to play. As a proper developer you should NEVER listen to such elitist minoritites. Those opinions dont matter in the grand scheme. If the vast majority of the playerbase doesnt have fun anymore or atleast has less fun than before, the dumb difficulty change was a failure. And thats clearly the case. But hey, Bungie was always instantly up for pleasing their little streamers which is complete nonsense but thats Bungie i guess. If someone like me who has thousands of hours in the game gets oneshot left and right in a stupid higher difficulty seasonal activity, then thats terrible game design. I have the experience, the gear and the light level. I just dont play a whole lot anymore (half an hour per week max on average because the game is bad nowadays). If you have to constantly build craft and min max broken builds to be able to make this artificial trash "difficulty" semi bearable, then thats terrible game design. But what do we expect by this hypocrititcal junior dev skeleton crew that barely keeps the game on life support these days...
