use a HC that feels good to you. Opening shot/ eye of the storm perks will help, Explosive payload has no damage fall off, so that helps too. When I went for Luna's Howl I used Trust to get my HC kills try one of those if you have. Austringer, Eyasluna are good dependin on the perks you have. Some might agree or disagree adding targeting mods will help but I tend to lean towards the base weapon and how it feels first. If you can't consistently land the first shot, one your going to lose that duel and two try using a different one till you find one that fits you.

6 RespuestasOP: some good advice in this thread already; here’s my 2 cents… 2. Find the HC that suits: on paper, Ace and Crimson seem top notch…and they are, too, if lag / latency doesn’t do you in first. TLW is lethal in the right hand(s)…as are Thorn and everyone’s favourite - (D1) Hawkmoon. In fact, D1 guns were the best, imho! 😎 My old Thorn and Trust were the best. Sunshot is epic! Now, Malfeasance is epic since the recent buff for any/all activities,👈 2. Meta HCs rule though these are shifting sands. Igneous Hammer - (Adept) or not, is hot stuff. Rose is another. Dire Promise was/is too. So many to choose in either top/mid slot. 3. Hit your shots to win! Sounds easy…lag / latency, xim / chronus / other weird magic, all will be seen, sooner or later in PvP. 😵💫 I watch U-tubers hit shots mid air and other superman skills, whereas I can hardly see who is shooting me or who to shoot - as their movement skills are other-worldly?! 🧐 Start with a bunch of HCs and go explore a preferred location, and get to know the feel of the guns until you find a few that work for you, an exotic / legendary for top and middle slots, so you can change things around, as required. Have fun! Ease springs! 🫡

4 RespuestasI would not recommend using Ace of Spades, which my be controversial. You’re a controller player, and the sad truth is we can’t easily use hand cannons with less than 60 stability. I would recommend Eyasluna bc it can hit 100 aim assist with moving target and targeting adjuster mod. Its a headshot magnet, and if you get a good roll, it has some pretty good stats. If you have the Austringer patterns, craft Austringer asap, it can hit some insane stability, and has a clean gun model. I would also highly recommend Hawkmoon if you want to use an exotic, because it too can hit 100 aim assist with 2 targeting mods. It also doesn’t have bloom, meaning consecutive shots feel like a dream. Another great thing is with a good roll, it hits 75 stability and 75 handling. Look at my Hawkmoon; I have a god roll. Use small bore (or hammer forged, but its not as good), use opening shot, and use smooth grip. I HIGHLY recommend getting the catalyst because it helps with range, which it doesn’t have a lot of. Xur sells it every weekend friday-monday with random rolls. The magazine stays the same, so just look for a good perk and barrel.

Really the only 180 you'd want is a crucible engram spammer to get the right roll for you but make sure it has hi cal 140s are very powerful unless you find one with explosive payload or it's delayed reaction cousin. 120s are harder to handle with recoil but hiding behind cover and letting that reticle cycle back to its position is basically how you use them anyway. Cancerous tools of the craft would be a bow with a already said 140 or 120 to couple. Hitting with bow first finish with a 120 And make sure to engage for mid range

Corner peek. Stay glued to cover and pop in and out to shoot.

aim for the head
-
Use an AoS or Thorn to start since you probably have them in collections. Peek shoot. Goodluck
-
Use a pulse.
-
My advice, dont start of with crimson because the recoil isnt consistent with other HCs. Do 140s. Ace, kept confidence, austringer, etc. Pace your shots, peek shoot.

Hand cannons are super fun! The biggest thing to remember is the archetype. Right now, at least in my experience, 120 rpm hand cannons are sitting mostly on top compared to the others. The only exceptions I’d say are some of the exotic hand cannons. Thorn and Lumina are pretty good, especially for warlocks, but I’ve also been getting back into the fun of the Last Word. The thing with hand cannons is whichever archetype you run should influence your other weapon. For example, 120’-blam!- like a truck and have a really good range, so your other weapon should be pretty close range, like a sidearm, shotgun, or smg. I mentioned how I’ve been using the Last Word lately, and as fun as it is, that HC does not have good range, so I bring a scout rifle to back it up. I saw someone mention taking them into Rumble and thats a good suggestion. It’ll help you figure out which ones you like and which ones you don’t. Last little bit of advice: the slower it fires, the harder it hits and the harder it kicks. You’ll find yourself pulling the joystick down to compensate for the recoil and line your shot back up. Don’t let it scare you, it’ll become second nature with practice
-
Take a selection of hand cannons into Rumble and find the ones that work for you. Be prepared to get stomped on. Start out aiming not to finish in last place and build yourself up from there. It’s a brutal place to learn, but it will teach you how to move and react more quickly, if you have the patience to stick with it.

2 RespuestasUse crimson!

3 RespuestasI'd suggest starting with crimson. It's an headshot magnet for some reason.

5 RespuestasEditado por Hawpy: 10/16/2023 2:12:04 PMFor archetypes, stick to 120s and 140s, as 180s aren't very competitive. Prioritise perks that give Range and Accuracy benefits, such as Eye of the Storm, Keep Away, Opening Shot, Encore and Killing Wind. For stats, especially on controller, you want a mix of Range and Stability; some Hand Cannons will have the base stats to easily enable this, others will not. In fights, you want to do what's called "peek-shooting". In short, you want to play very close to cover and only peek out when you can shoot. After you've fired, you hide and wait until you can fire again. As the waiting isn't very long, this amounts to short sideways movements of the thumbstick, back and forth. More so than anything else, though, get comfortable with a gun that you like. If you don't enjoy the feel of a gun, or dislike the sights and how it handles, then it's likely that you won't perform well with it.
