I'm very impressed with the frequency of the updates we are getting and the increased communication. A lot of what's coming could be pretty big Ws for PvP. - Checkmate is excellent and they have already performed weapon tuning with more to come - Mid-season patch is addressing some serious PvP pain points - SBMM is getting nerfed - Spawn tuning - Getting a 3v3 rotator playlist (we've need a casual 3v3 playlist for a while) - Comp weapon focusing and also Comp rank adjustments All of these sound great. If they can get the foundation of PvP (matchmaking, rewards, sandbox) in a good spot, plus consistent injections of new content (maps, game modes, experiences), I'm gonna feel pretty good about the future of PvP.
