Bruh the story is getting more and more ridiculous.
It feels like a series that started years ago with a grandiose firework and is now slipping into the meanders of mediocrity, with a touch of disdain and absurdity.
Bungie has really no clue what to do with this story and game, it’s gross.
“Hey you! —- you mean me? Yes you. We never spoke about you! —- yeah I know, I’ve been stuck in a corner there looking at the floor, glad you finally noticed me! —- sure sure, let’s put you on the forefront in a recycled mission, so we can kill you asap and act as if it was our greatest loss.”
Ok Bungie. Please ask your writers what the heck they actually wrote instead of what they do with their butt during interviews, might be useful to us high paying customers and fans.
This expansion is such a disaster. Lame. Boring. Ridiculous. Untested. Unimaginative. Uninspired. Undefined.

I wonder who writes the lore cards. The majority of those are exceptional writing. The Ghost Stories, the Cayde lore. The lore for one eyed mask. My favourite entry is the Sunbreaker last entry lore for the Hallowed Heart exotic. I want the person who wrote that running the story. Give them free reign. Instead we get, save the veil without telling us what it is and Nimbus, a character so cringe and utterly tedious he make Jar Jar Binks look good. When he went to fist bump us as Caitl stood in front of her dead father on my first campaign playthrough I literally dropped the controller in shock. I am a fan of the Witcher books and the games. The Witcher TV series going the way it has and this expansion's direction feel like the same direction. Take something great and rewrite to fit your narrative and politics.

Yet people will still defend Bungie and hold onto hope that all the mysteries of Destiny will be explained someday. Bungie will probably do something like they did on the last episode of the TV show Lost and not answer any questions and just say it was all a dream. The fanboys will think that is genius.

LOL this. I haven't seen this much pointless technobabble since a bad episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation. Nothing makes sense, or is explained. -blam!- is just pulled out of nowhere and told to us and we're supposed to go with it.

Yeah, the story is just bad at this point. They've resorted to killing old favorite characters in illogical ways to create false drama while introducing new irritating characters who talk like cartoons and then making them "they" so they can pretend everyone who gets annoyed by the dialogue is some sort of bigot. Then Bungie employees get on their stealth accounts and use the forums to defend the character as "bright and competent" even though that character is written at a fourth grade reading level.

Exactly. Bungie decided as a company to go in a certain direction a few years back and now its coming back to bite them in the -blam!-. Everything but the gameplay has suffered as a result. Go back and look at D1 and the stories that it brought us and fast forward to now. There's a difference most folks don't want to acknowledge as it relates to where the company has gone and it rhymes with "broke".
