God forbid...

If it doesn't have overly complicated mechanics and sixty symbols with callouts then it's too "casual" for the destiny community and that's a dirty word to these people. God forbid anything be fun. God forbid the player base complete the raid. If I see another blueberry with a raid emblem I'm gonna freak out man... Lol 😆 I hate to be like this but this is literally how y'all are. It's really TOXIC

  • I’m glad I got the contest clear 3h before it was over, I’m glad me and my team were able to do it. I really like RoN and that RoN is a very casual and easy raid. I still hated this contest mode. Contest mode should be… hard or difficult. It’s ONLY a 48h period in which people can prove themselves to be well… great players/hardcore players. And it’s only for an Emblem, a symbol supposed to show a mastery of something (at least in some cases). You don’t miss out on anything when you can’t do a raid during contest besides bragging rights. My team wasn’t good, we aren’t good players, if it was anything other than RoN we wouldn’t have been able to complete it… which would’ve been fine. Again I’m happy we got the clear… but man it doesn’t feel earned

    Wanting more mechanics in a raid isn’t “elitist” or “toxic”. A raid shouldn’t have 4, in some encounters 5 ad clearing and only 1-2 with an actual job. It’s very hard to learn the raid, if you never have any responsibility in it. And frankly It gets boring. Aesthetically, it’s gorgeous. But unless you’re one of the lucky 2, it’s boring. You don’t even need coms in this raid Which is insane when you compare it to a lot of the older raids.

    • Theres not 60 symbols and Vow is not complicated. It was tough day one thats it. How about you watch a guide, get over your crippling social anxiety, and turn your monitor on. Players who want a challenge have every right to ask bungie for more challenge. They spent their hard earned money just like you.

      • I hate overly complicated mechanics. "Do this, then do that, then the other thing all in this order while simultaneously standing on these platforms and then run to the pedestal in the middle to get cleansed so you don't get a team wipe, etc, etc, in perpetuity." It's not really what I call fun. Tougher enemies is fine.

          • I didn’t do contest but Nazarec fight is lame encounter. Rhulk is a much more fun fight. Also bunch of pointless traversal I dunno I don’t like this raid. 3rd encounter got a cool location but boss is literally have the look of a strike boss.

          • Nah man. The amount of teams that cleared contest mode is an order of magnitude more than ever before. More than all other worlds first raves combined. Only one person needed to execute any raid mechanics at all. You really don't see how skewed that is?

            • I mean, personally I just wish the raid wasn’t 4 people on ad clear and the remaining 2 engaging by just shooting a ball for 3/4 of the raid. It doesn’t feel like a team activity. It feels like a duo doing the raid and the rest of the team is along for the loot.

            • It just had no fun to it. It wasn't super hard or anything. Just not fun at all at any point. After beating the final boss, I got boots that were worse than the boots I got in the first encounter. One time through the raid and I deleted the item from the final boss. That is total shite.

            • God forbid some stuff isn't handed out to everyone. Imagine having 48 hours of something be difficult before it becomes brain dead easy for the rest of the games lifespan

              • Half the raid can be soloed, the mechanics of the final boss can be done by one guy and the only encounter that has most of the team participating in the mechanics uses completely different mechanics. Also there have been more day 1 completions of that raid than every other destiny 2 raid completion combined, so yeah it’s a bit too easy If you think easier raids is fine then good on you but other people are allowed to think that easy raids are bad

                I don’t know why so many people get wrong what blueberry means. It’s not noob. It simply means someone not on your fireteam. Look at your radar. People on your fireteam are green. Those not on your fireteam are blue. Blueberry. Edit: I love how all the people embarrassed about their ignorance are trying to insist it means noob 😂😂 Edit 2: they mad now 😂😂

                  Missing the point. You can literally carry 4 people at once in this raid because only 2 people need to do mechanics. That’s stupid lmao. I was running the raid yesterday and was actually getting [i]bored[/i] because I was stuck on ads for the whole thing. Vow having 30 Symbols makes it difficult to learn, not difficult in general. Once you know all of the symbols, the raid is essentially just coordination. Which is good, because that means (usually) EVERYONE is doing something. I will say that even tho Nezzy has very little health, he’s a very fun encounter. But if Bungie just up and DOUBLED his health and damage, he’d probably be the greatest raid boss in the game. Final God of Pain? This guy has been built up for years, and, much like any liberal Karen, he’s dying after being coughed on. No offense, but throwing around the word toxic is just going to make you look like your bad at raids.

                • I go to Uni full time and have a job, this take is just, bad. This raid is the least mechanically interesting raid in bungie's history of making the game, Prison of Elders back in D1 had more interactions with mechanics. If I wanted to shoot ads and wait for a damage phase I do strikes. Thats what this feels like a strike. Planets is one of the most beautiful boss rooms we've seen and has an interesting mechanic, it is the best part of RoN by a long shot. The point being, raids are supposed to be endgame 1+ hour activities, not a glorified strike where the most complex thing is shooting the boss in his crit spot. I'd understand if this was a year one raid and they are just laying foundations but this is year what 5? 6? Vow was one of the most fun raids I've played between everyone having to do something at an encounter like Exhibition and the boss feeling like something new we've never seen before; both of which fall flat in RoN. if you like it don't be ashamed for liking it and how easy it is, but at the end of the day this is the Crota's end of Destiny 2, it'll probably be 2 manned within a month. On the idea of symbols, you literally can call things anything in Vow as long as its recognizable, my team called one symbol "man on man" or "9/11" like you don't have to memorize specific names.

                • I've not encountered a more elitist community than D2. God forbid an individual finds validation and fulfillment outside of a video game. Many in this playerbase need to go "roll in the grass". Touching it isn't good enough.

                • D1 raids were much more accessible, I'd prefer they went back there. Memorizing a bunch of symbols is just crazy, If raiding is your greatest achievement and you can't stand seeing the common people do it, you really need to reevaluate your life. If you really insist on harder, play with less people, use off meta weapons, or I dunno. Maybe be a decent human and pull people who have a hard time with it through.

                    • Just wanted to say thanks for the upvotes. Y'all real people with common sense see what I'm driving at and agree with me. I am thankful. Tired of this toxicity in a game we all pay for. Tired of hearing things from players like cause you beat this raid don't mean nothing cause it doesn't count. Really negative community. When the contest modes were too hard which they always have been people were upset that the game belonged to streamers. Now there was one that more players completed and this community isn't thankful or happy for them. They think it's a strike or a dungeon. I don't think they feel it's even a raid. Sad.

It's really TOXIC[/quote] Streamers finally realize the level playing field for day one raids - their obsessive grinding means nothing now - their ability to game puzzles is gone… The raid was so “easy” most of the major streamers barely placed in the top 100… And now that they didn’t they cry and cry again…what a joke…

                      • As a “hardcore” I can say the raid is fine as is (no i haven’t cleared it yet) and it’s good to have an entry raid for new raiders. However, I can sympathize with the day one crowd, contest being 2 days out of the year where a raid is too hard to beat for causals is perfectly fine. It’s CONTEST, not Casual mode. Conclusion: I have an opinion.

                        • You realise you're being toxic, right? You can express the opinion that you feel Root of Nightmares is " perfect for people like you", and thats fine. I can see that, im not really gonna argue with it, you can have that opinion. However, while i dont think "Last Wish Contest Mode" is a state the game should ever return to, there hasn't been an issue with Contest Mode prior to Root of Nightmares. Its felt pretty consistent in its difficulty and clear time for the past few raids. In the argument for Contest Mode RoN being too easy.. it was. Its TWO days. 2 days of a Raid being harder before it drops down to standard. 2 days out of 365, for a raid to be difficult. If you were a real member of the community, and just took a slice of humble pie, and just admitted youre not that good at the game, you could just sit back and enjoy watching people do contest mode, for 1 day in your life. Enjoy this community event of people running content. But you're being a toxic casual. You are so entitled, that you cannot deal with the concept of people beating a game or an activity you cant. Womp womp, oh well, RIPBOZO. Do you complain about games like Elden Ring too? Skill issue. The larger issue, isnt even necessarily "the raid is too easy", its a much larger issue with difficulty being inconsistent across the board. I did contest mode RoN, im in more danger inside of a Legend LOST SECTOR than i was inside the raid. Why are people being 1-2 shot by a Hobgoblin in the Vexcalibur quest, but can tank a TORMENTOR in a contest mode raid? Thats the issue. There is no consistency with difficulty in the game across the board, including the raid. Honestly, beyond that though.. Raids arent difficult. Sorry. Theyre just not. VoW is as hard as it gets, and while i think they went a bit overboard on symbols, least be honest, you probably havent even tried doing it. But otherwise, ive been in LFG for tons of raids. There are some bad players in there, and they still clear. So whats your excuse?

                          • I have not done the Raid yet so cant really comment but just like previous Raids not everyone needs to be this so called pro gamer, Raids should always be accessiable for all players with the proper guide and teacher in the fireteam.

It's really TOXIC[/quote] Vow had the easiest mechanics ever added the game literally gave you the names of the callouts and were so distinct thag if you saw the EARTH and thought that looked like something else then damn. Raids have always been easy what people want are hard Day 1s Hell what i want for a Final Shape Day 1 raid is 1 completion and it to be the length of Last Wish
