Has Light 3.0 screwed over Warlocks?

Yes Warlocks are weaker

111

Yes and No, there were good and bad changes

364

No, this is the strongest warlocks have ever been

102

If you chose the “Yes and No” option, could you explain what you think was good and what was bad? Everyone is welcome to comment their opinions, I’m just curious about the numbers. I have my own opinions and I see a lot of them on here but I’m curious what the statistics of the communities thoughts are. Thank you for reading!

No. This is the strongest that Warlocks have ever been. With the greatest degree of "personality" between the sub-classes. Each subclass now plays fundamentally different, and has its own purpose in the game. Instead of just being different flavors of damage. I think you are seeing people get frustrated for three reasons: 1. Bungie is not longer doing the build-crafting for us. The old system handed you a powerful build right out of the box. Often requiring nothing more from the player than to just add an exotic armor piece, and run whatever was the current meta loadout. Bungie isn't doing that anymore. Now if you want a powerful build, you have to understand how to put it together on your own (or with guidance). They irony is that many builds are WAY more powerful than what was possible under 2.0...and we have WAY more ways of playing our Guardians under the newer system. But some players don't want to engage with the new system or make the effort. 2. PVP. The old system allowed our Guardians to be though of as heroes in a hero shooter. So it seems some PVP players only see the game in terms of "competitive edge". So they are jealously protective of "specialized abiltiies" that give their perferred class an edge against the other 2. As a result they are angry that Bungie gave all the classes access to all the types of grenades, and most foundational abilities (Scorch, Ionic Trace, etc...) So they're mad. 3. Bungie retuned the game to play more like Destiny 1...and instead of adapting to the change, many people are stubbornly fighting it. When Bungie released vanilla D2, it was clear that the design team wanted a game that played more like a Halo game....and had a PVP emphasis. (I suspect that was the game Activision wanted, and the PVP faction within Bungie wanted). But the player base rejected. The problem was that such poor design choices were made that a lack of power for our players was baked into the game, and there were almost no options to get power to us quickly to stop the bleeding. So they turned up the power of certain exotics and our supers to almost ridiculous levels....while the tried to put back in the features that allowed for more powerful weapons and more powerful armor. Light 3.0 was the final stage in that retooling of the game. Now that we had the ability to re-configure our abilities and make them more powerful....Bungie took BACK that excessive power that was given to many of our supers. Using our supers as a primary way of fighting bosses was NEVER a part of D1...and only became a thing in D2 as a result of trying to salvage the failure of vanilla D2. So now the game plays more like Destiny 1, and our power is more evenly spread between weapons, armor, abiltiies and super. Instead of 90% of it being stacked up in weapons and supers. But instead of adapting their play style to fit the new game tuning, people are demanding that Bungie give them back the power to the supers. Which makes no sense given how much more powerful our abilities are...and how much "up time" is possible if you build well.
