Putting everything new and shiny behind a paywall/Microtransaction is what's killing players to play. You can add new dungeons/raids and then find out, wait I need not only the new expansion but also either a specific ediftion, or have to buy the new dungeon key. It's the same issue WoW is having, anytime it's new there is some excuse as to why it should be offered as a microtransaction and not allowed to be unlocked in the game. All these exotic skins or even the 30th anniversary price for a dungeon/exotic was a slap to the face. Celebrating a new holiday/event and then sticking on some price tag to provide a "reward" that should be available in the game and not for real world money. Currently farming the Solstice for a white glow, and to get the more vibrant glow is either cash in all the Bright dust you earn, which is already to get that much is an insane amount of grinding minus the new seasons where you get the bulk amount, or by paying with Silver from the Eververse instead of allowing it be earned in game as it should be. It's just getting worse and worse and sadly I don't see this ending anytime soon.

2 RespuestasBecause some bright spark realised he can sell you things you don’t need.(cosmetics). But you think you want them so you buy them. Then a year later there either free or duplicates. Who would believe profits can be made by selling shiny stuff. Pretend in game money that you have to exchange real cash for is quite misleading to some.

Oh no! You have to buy the game to be able to play the game! The horror!

2 RespuestasI'm just going to add that this week the Nightfall requires paying for an expansion to play. Which make no sense when you have a base-game quest (On the Offensive, which is a New Light quest) that requires its completion. It should follow, therefore, that the Nightfall should be considered a base-game feature. Not to mention that the vast majority of content is locked behind a paywall and is excessively overpriced. So the OPs frustration isn't unwarranted. Also... it's so they can pay their employees? No, they're lining the pockets of the execs.
-
Because Bungie is a business and needs to make money to at least cover their expenses from creating any content.
-
3 RespuestasBecause D2 players will pay, thats why.

3 RespuestasI thought micotransactions were only for heated seats in BMWs?

How are you gonna complain that things are behind a paywall & then also complain about the free way to get those same things?
-
1 RespuestaAn even better question: Why is food in real life locked behind a paywall?
-
Why should you get everything for free?
-
96 RespuestasMTX are why: 1. There are no monthly subscription fees. 2. Why buying DLC and expansions are optional rather than mandatory 3. Why we get the almost continuous updates and maintenance to the game. Nothing in life is free.
-
Because it costs money to make all that content, that's it. Bungie is a business, and wants to not only make it's money back, they actually want to make a profit. Sorry for being an -blam!- but it's really not complicated. The F2P part of the game is supposed to give you a small sample of the full product ,in the hope that you then buy the full product. Ever try those frees samples at Sam's Club? Same thing.

Editado por CoNnOr10722: 7/24/2022 3:58:42 PMIt would be nice if everything in destiny was free, but i dont see how that would be possible, some of the cosmetics from eververse i agree is annoying, but are people really that pissed that raids and dungeons ( which last i checked were actual content ), how can anyone be frustrated that they’re paid for?
-
Nothing wrong with paying for a video game to play it.
-
1 Respuestabeside DLC (which EVERY game is doing right now) almost all are free, even cosmetic they have to feed their employees some how
-
Not everything is behind a paywall, but it's funny how most of it is. Maybe it's because Bungie has nothing to offer this game anymore so let's manipulate the weak players into thinking we "still have it".
-
It you care THAT much, pay up. If not, then learn to go without.
-
Do you need to have everything? Then I guess you need to come up with some cash.

6 RespuestasI don't believe Bungie's design for destiny is a totally free model. It hasn't been for 7 years. They typically only give free stuff away when it's like 2-3 years old already and no one is playing it. They give it away for free to give incentive to new players to try it, maybe get hooked and buy the new content or cosmetics. If you don't like the business model, there are free games you can play.
