Hoping Bungie sees this, so here is my pitch for Guardian Games 2023 (or perhaps a new variation of Gambit)
The current Guardian Games event is getting a bit stale and causes fatigue from farming the same activities we do any given week. My pitch is to repurpose another aspect of the game for this event, like we had the infinite forest repurposed for Festival of the Lost.
But for Guardian Games I'd like to repurpose Gambit.
The idea:
We would have 3 arenas, and Guardians would be paired with 2 others of their class in a 3v3v3 split. Enemies would still drop motes that have to be banked to open the portal to progress, but the portal wouldn't send someone to invade another arena. It would transport all 3 guardians to a Gauntlet that they have to traverse to get to the next portal back to their Arena. (think something similar to the Gauntlet part of the Leviathan raid)
The twist is that the Gauntlet is a shared area that all 3 teams will have to move through.
In the Gauntlet areas, teams that pass through first could wait in there to ambush other teams, push through to the next arena to get a head start or have some go ahead while some stay back to ambush. There are drawbacks to staying back to ambush as there is a good chance you die and allow the other teams to overtake, but the gambit (sorry, not sorry) could work in your favour.
Once back in the Arena, there is a new Horde of enemies with higher difficulty and the Gauntlet gets more difficult too. The Gauntlet could have a countdown timer to death so you have to move through quickly, but there are one or 2 spots that pause the timer allowing ambushes. But this means teams that are behind know exactly where the ambushers could be so the risk is higher.
There could also be an Arena that includes Champions, and the last Gauntlet includes booby traps/ground that falls away. This all leads to the last Arena that would spawn a Boss/Primeval.
First team to finish wins, but in order they get Gold, Silver and Bronze.
I've attached an image of how I imagine this would flow (bottom to top). Link below if it doesn't show in post.

This could be in addition to the bounty system, but medals from this activity would be considerably more valuable in the tally for the Guardian Games Leader board.
Think that would be a cool event that would challenge each of the classes in all things. Maybe Bungie sees this and they use it, maybe they don't... I'm just glad to have gotten it out of my head for now :)

3 RespuestasNice thought process and effort, but seeing how all seasonal events revolve around the eververse, my question to you is: How does your idea helps bungie sell more cosmetic items?
-
To bad you just said pvp in it. Bungie can't get MM right in regular crucible. This would be a nightmare of imbalanced lobbies and a terrible experience. If it was just pve, shatterskating would make this gauntlet unfair as well.

how about remove this bs and bring back factions how they were in D1

1 RespuestaGive at least Eva Levante a new set of clothes! Maybe change her lines so she do not look like she suffers from Alzheimers! Maybe Bungie could pull the "Lazy-cord or plug" as well? Just a thought! Come 2023 Bungie and Sony will have much greater competition and it would be foolish to rest on the bearings (Laurels) Thinking that the Destiny 2 players do not demand real change!

Sure You make it while not be paid Ok goodbye see you next year

1 RespuestaGuardian Games Pitch for 2023: Don't have it.
-
Trash it.. That's my pitch

Looks like a really good idea. The only thing that might be a little problematic/hard to balance is having a team of 3 hunters and jumping puzzles. I'm sure they could come up with something to even that out though.

Guardian Games? Don't you mean Bounty Simulator?

1 RespuestaWell done, man. Great idea.
