Like seriously turn it back on for a season and if it's worse then do one of two things:
Take it down for a bit, actually test it and fix it, then boot it back up.
Just flat out remove it .
Edit: If a dev sees this do a week or two of a SBMM labs for just Control or all playlists. That way the feedback can show either result and sway if it can be implemented or not.
Edit 2: Vastly agree with you guys saying content creators cried for SBMM removal. They are indeed afraid going up against others of their caliber would be both terrible for their channels and bad PR for Bungie. Like who'd want to watch a fair match of a 6.0 KD vs a 6.0 KD over a one sided 8.0 vs a 2.0?
Again, either run a week. Long SBMM labs, turn it on for a season, or rework it from the ground up. Even if it's down a while
